Original story
RUSSELL, Ky. (WSAZ) -- It's not just about being smart and knowing the answers and questions to be a winner on Jeopardy.
When contestants buzz in, it's all about listening, lights and timing. Just ask Shelby Malone, a local teen on Friday night's Teen Tournament show.
Shelby, a 17-year-old academic whiz at Russell High School in Kentucky, said she's been a Jeopardy fan since she she was a little girl.
"I like to deal with different trivia," she said. "It's fun."
She said the competition on the show was sharp, but the answers and questions were a bit easier than expected. She said they were more about pop culture than random facts.
Shelby planned on having a big Jeopardy watching party at her home Friday evening.

Shelby......YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!! All area students should stand up and take notice! You're the best!
I think that everyone around here is very smart, but they just don't know it yet. Alot of people are afraid and don't want people to know that they are smart. So people around here SHOULD be going on shows like that much more.
YAY SHELBY!!! You are so amazing and I'm so proud of you!
