Here are some events that are canceled for Friday, January 30, through Sunday, February 1, due to severe weather conditions:

WEST VIRGINIA
The Huntington YMCA is closing at 6 p.m. Friday.

Ticket holders for the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner Meeting are advised that this event is still be held on Friday, January 30 at Wellington's in Poca. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and should conclude by 10:00 p.m. Any questions should be directed to mchapman@putnamcounty.org.

The Upward Basketball League, sponsored by Grassland Community Church and Calvary Christian School is canceled for Saturday, January 31,2009.

New Life Church of Huntington, is canceling its Winter Bible Seminar the remainder of this week.

Barker's Martial Arts in Ashland has canceled all classes for the rest of this week.

The Kids Smile Fluoride Varnish Training scheduled for 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 at the Northern Kentucky Independent Health Department in Edgewood has been canceled.

Affecting East Carter, West Carter, and Lawrence Co. KY students: the Governor's Cup District FPS and Written Comp for District 62 is postponed until at least Saturday. There will be further announcements, especially concerning Saturday's scheduled competition.

The Lawrence Co., Ohio "All County Band try-outs" scheduled for Saturday, January 31st., are canceled. Try-outs will be rescheduled.
