Republican Jill York Wins 96th District House Seat in Special Kentucky Election
Republican Jill York has defeated Democratic challenger Barry Webb in a special election for the 96th District House Seat, according to unofficial returns.

GRAYSON, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Republican Jill York has defeated Democratic challenger Barry Webb in a special election for the 96th District House Seat, according to unofficial returns.
Returns show that York received 2,545 votes, and Webb received 1,663 votes in Carter and Lewis counties. Turnout was only 14 percent.
The vacancy was created when Robin Webb was elected to the Kentucky State Senate back in August.

GRAYSON, Ky. (WSAZ) -- It is election day in Carter and Lewis counties in eastern Kentucky.
Voters are going to the polls in a special election for the 96th District House Seat.
The vacancy was created when Robin Webb was elected to the Kentucky State Senate back in August.
In Tuesday’s election, Republican Jill York and Democrat Barry Webb are vying to be Robin Webb’s replacement. The term for that seat ends on December 31, 2010.
Polls will be open until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
