ATHENS, Ohio (WSAZ)--A former Ohio University baseball player has pleaded guilty to a charge of persistent disorderly conduct in connection with a gambling investigation.
Following the plea, Brent Decoster was sentenced to 30 days in jail but the sentence was suspended on the conditions that he serve two years probation.
He was also told to complete 25 days of community service, get evaluated for having a gambling addiction and follow the counselor’s recommendations.
Authorities say Decoster and 22-year old Andrew Shisla ran a betting operation.
Last month, Shisila plead guilty to illegal bookmaking charges and was also sentenced to two years probation with the same conditions.
