LAWRENCE COUNTY, Oh (WSAZ) -- Five new buses and two new states. Those TTA buses aren't just confined to West Virginia anymore.

As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, TTA added new routes that include Ohio and Kentucky.

Three years in the making, Lawrence County leaders pumped new life into a bus system that's been out of sight in these parts for nearly four decades.

The image of TTA is changing. It’s been thirty five years since people in Proctorville, Ohio can get on the bus and get out of town.

Bus service will extend into Kentucky once construction is completed on the Ironton-Russell bridge in about two or three months.

The Ironton-Ashland line makes five stops in Ashland.

I wish they'd expand to Teays Valley. There are lots of people who would use the bus service from Teays Valley to Chas., especially for those who work in Chas.

This had been in the works for a few years now, and I'm glad to see it come to fruition. What this country needs (and I suspect will eventually come around to) is more mass transit like they have in European countries (and in large American cities).
