SCOTTOWN, Ohio (WSAZ)—Firefighters from 6 departments battled a huge house fire near Scottown in Lawrence County, Ohio earlier today.

The fire was at 339 County Road 67. The house itself was about 1/2 mile down a gravel road off the main road. The fire was reported around 8:00am.

It took firefighters about an hour and a half to bring the fire under control. We're told one of the big problems was a lack of water to fight the fire.

Firefighters tried to save numerous items from inside the house, but the fire got too hot and those efforts had to be called off.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the back of the house. The house was destroyed.

No one was home when the fire started. There were no injuries.

Was it the Gorby house? Was the house located on Reeves Creek? Mapquest showed the address on Pleasant Ridge Road. Regardless, the family is in our prayers - whoever they are!

Maybe they should start investigating around there. Sounds like a firebug may lurking around that town. That is sad and a shame another family has lost their home in less than a week.
