Ironton, Ohio (WSAZ) --The Ironton-Russell Bridge will open to traffic today Wednesday, August 27.

Work on the bridge is being suspended today due to the rainy weather.

Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be working under the bridge today as weather permits.

The rehabilitation and preservation project is expected to be completed by November 1.

The work has the bridge closed to traffic from 8:30 to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
