Wildfire Burning in Lawrence County, Ohio
U.S. Forest Service Firefighters from the Wayne National Forest are working to put out a wildfire that’s burned an estimated 70-acres.

IRONTON, Ohio, (WSAZ) -- U.S. Forest Service Firefighters from the Wayne National Forest are working to put out a wildfire that’s burned an estimated 70-acres.
The fire is located on the north end of Decatur Township west of Highway 93 off County Road 34, known as Pine Creek Road in Lawrence County, Ohio.
No homes or any other structures are threatened at this time.
Forestry firefighters are working to place a containment line around the fire, which is creeping along the forest floor burning mostly leafy vegetation.
At this time, the cause of the fire is not known.
The Madison Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department is helping to fight the fire.
