HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Twelve students have been chosen as Yeager Scholars at Marshall University. Five of them are from West Virginia.
Marshall made the announcement Friday.
Yeager scholarships cover four-year educational and living expenses, including overseas study programs. The program is named for retired General Chuck Yeager, the test pilot from Lincoln County who broke the sound barrier in 1947.
The winners are:

Kyle Burner of Huntington
Samuel Kelch of Washington, West Virginia
Rachel Lewis of Huntington
Patricia Wheaton of Fairmont
Shelby Brewster of Colorado Springs, Colorado
Timmeka Brice of Salisbury, Maryland
Emily Cline of Shreve, Ohio
Ian Ferrell of Union Bridge, Maryland
Jordan Hilgefort of Hebron, Kentucky
Delaney McLemore of Philomath, Oregon
Benjamin Woodworth of Trafalgar, Indiana.
They'll join 31 other Yeager Scholars already on campus.
