WAYNE, W.Va. (WSAZ & AP) - Two soldiers accused of killing a Huntington, W.Va., minister are expected to appear in a Columbus, Ohio, courtroom later this week.

Nineteen-year-old Stephen Wilson of Cincinnati and 22-year-old Daniel Smith of Newport News, Va., were arrested Friday at a Columbus bus stop.

They're both charged with first-degree murder in the June 19 shooting of the Rev. Mark McCalla at a shooting range in Wayne County, W.Va.

Wilson and Smith had been stationed at Fort Drum in New York, but the Army has listed them as deserters since May.

If the men waive extradition, Wayne County Sheriff David Pennington says his deputies will bring them back to West Virginia as soon as possible.

Police in Columbus now expect that court hearing to take place on Wednesday.

UPDATE @ 10:45 p.m. Friday
Wayne County Sheriff Dave Pennington tells WSAZ.com that deputies are on their way to Columbus, Ohio, to bring suspects Daniel Smith and Stephen Wilson back to West Virginia.

We're told both were arrested in Columbus at about 9:30 p.m. Friday as they were getting off a Greyhound bus.

ORIGINAL STORY:
WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Wayne County Sheriff has filed murder warrants for two men in the shooting death of a Huntington minister.

Reverend Mark MCalla was found shot to death at shooting range at the Beech Fork Lake Wildlife Management Area last week.

Police are now looking for Stephen Wilson of Cincinnati and Daniel Smith of Newport News, Virginia.

Investigators say both men are AWOL from US Army at Fort Drum, NY. They should be considered armed and dangerous.

Both men were believed to have been staying at house police raided on Thursday. That house was at 32 Idle Acres.

Three people at the house at the time of raid were questioned and released. Deputies tell us that Wilson and Smith were not at the house when they arrived.

Investigators confiscated a number of guns and a car with New York license plates.

The sheriff tells WSAZ that he believes the motive of the murder was robbery because some of the guns confiscated appeared to have belonged to McCalla. They have to conduct tests on the guns to be sure, though.

Earlier in the week, a person told investigators that he/she saw a car with New York plates near the crime scene the morning Rev. McCalla was killed. That witness said a passenger in the car had a Mohawk haircut.

Investigators now believe that is one of the men they are looking for. They say that person no longer has the Mohawk cut.

The search for both men continues this hour.

My prayers are with the Wilson family, I don't know the full story but Steve's sister has been like family to me and I pray for them every minute. Please remember that though justice is neccesary, it is God's place to judge not ours."let he who is without sin cast the first stone"
