WAYNE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Wayne County magistrate sent the murder case of Daniel Smith and Stephen Wilson to the grand jury Wednesday afternoon. The two are accused of murdering Huntington pastor Mark McCalla at a gun range in Beech Fork last month.

Security was very tight at the Wayne County courthouse today as Smith and Wilson appeared before Magistrate Teddy Mays.

Testimony was heard from an ATF agent as to the arrest of the two suspects in Columbus, Ohio.

The agent said he took a statement from Smith who said that the two went to the shooting range to steal guns.

When they arrived there Mr. McCalla was at the range and that Smith and Wilson confronted McCalla about the weapons. At that time, Smith turned to Wilson and said "do you want to do it" and at that time Wilson shot McCalla then drug his body from the area.

Some members of Pastor McCalla's family attended today's proceedings but did not want to comment after the hearing.

The trial has been postponed to the Spring. These sub-humans deserve the most severe punishment possible. Their actions may now cause Pastor Mark's father his life. He had a stroke this week as a direct result of the stress of losing his son in such a horrific manner. The death penalty needs to brought back to West Virginia.

Buddy i promise you i understand where your anger and frustration is coming from although i have never had a family member murdered in such a brutal cowardice fashion. Steve was like a 3rd brother to me and i have shed many tears over this which nobody else will or has ever seen coming from me. For you to call him those names is fine because you can have your own opinion but please,i have read some of these other peoples remarks that say his parents are to blame and i know that you never mentioned his parents but they are some of the nicest people that i have ever met. his actions were his own. i am deeply sorry for your loss. i would love to meet you in person just to talk to you at that local Starbucks in Huntington. my next vacation is this spring and i would love to come out that way to have a conversation with you.
