Black or white...drugs are drugs...and ignorance is bliss. Drugs are being sold and used all over Huntington. There will always be a drug problem. Especially since, HPD contributes through their shotty police work. Yeah, kudos to them for making an arrest. Sad part is they break so many laws and violate peoples rights in the process that so many of these arrests go unprosecuted due to technicalities. The ratio of arrests to convictions is unparalleled! Its always the talk of the town when big arrests like this are made. All over newspapers and the news. I think it would be very interesting to see updates as to the disposition of the cases. I think alot of you would be suprised. Also if there were no customers to these dealers they would eventually fall off. Its pathetic these addicts are used by police to provide info when arrested and in return let 2 go free and purchase more drugs. Kind of a vicious cycle! Some better structuring is needed. This is only a scratch to the surface.

all you people think it is a race problem, it isnt. it is the drugs, our mens cant get a job in this town. they just wanna try and get money to bring up our families. i am a graduate from hhs, with a 2.30, so dont say i am not educated. it does seem like on my side of the tracks the hpd hangs around and waits to get our mens.

The reason the "hood" gets busted more often is because the idiots in the "hood" are breaking the law... Just happens that Huntington's "hood" is full of blacks... Yes white people also do drugs, and are probably half of the customers... but still it is not a race issue.... The reason there is more blacks in prison is because they are committing the crimes... DAH... get over wanting someone to feel sorry for you because you are black.. People are NOT arrested because of their skin color, it is because of the crime they committ.. SO OBVIOUSLY blacks are committing more crimes....... DAH..... I get so sick of hearing "it's because we're black" WELL NEWSFLASH,, it is because of you're actions. Not skin color.... get over feeling sorry forself because you are black. More Black people need to act responibly and then they would be taken more seriously and believe it or not, their live will change when their actions do... SICK OF HEARING SOB STORIES OF CRIMINALS.

I have sat on my front porch and seen the drug activity at that home on 11th Avenue for years. Thanks to the HPD and SWAT. The neighbors will be glad not to see around 50 cars a day come to 932 11th Avenue. Some people even came by taxi and would go to the front door to purchase drugs while the taxi waited in front of the house.

It is exciting to know that Huntington might be getting cleaned up. That was a decent bust.Good job HPD. Oh yeah, race doesnt matter. If you are dealing dope in our fair city, you should be behind bars forever. Im so tired of drugs in the community. Its getting out of hand. Lock em up and throw away the key.

Litisha get an education. "our hood and our mens" Play the race card a little harder.

Posted by: cindy on Aug 11, 2008 at 06:07 PM
No names of those listed, is that so the public will not know they are never held in jail for any amount of time..

Posted by: Joker on Aug 11, 2008 at 02:31 PM
I'm not a big fan of our local police department but they are slowly regaining my trust. Good work guys.

Posted by: Debbie on Aug 11, 2008 at 01:55 PM
Latisha are you serious? White people are busted for drugs also, don't you read? Or do you only read articles about 'da hood? The heroin ring? a bunch of them were white. You just used that race excuse again, and it's getting old. Don't commit crime and you won't get arrested. Yes, it's that simple.

Posted by: Jerome on Aug 11, 2008 at 09:41 AM
White Chick, you want a little coffee in yo cream? I gots the coffee if you gots the time.

Posted by: White Chick on Aug 11, 2008 at 01:09 AM
Seriously, Latisha...in our "hood"? Who are you by saying in "our hood"? ANYONE black, white, or purple can drive thru or live in that area. It's not targeted just to African-American people, they're just the ones who get caught. You're the one giving you ALL a bad rep by getting on here talking in whatever language you want to call that. Try English class and not the dope.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 10, 2008 at 08:47 PM
GOOD JOB HPD! KEEP IT UP!

Posted by: MrObvious on Aug 10, 2008 at 02:28 PM
All you people making suggestions to the police on here need to get a bunch of the neighbors together and start video taping the dope location 24/7 and giving the tapes to the police. If the police can't/won't do their job, let's help them.

Posted by: Hater Police on Aug 10, 2008 at 08:19 AM
Justiceit seems to me that you are upset because he is a man that isn't a dead beat father, do you have a man that isnt doing right by you? He may have been breaking the law, but for you to have made that comment makes me think that he must be an alright father to his kids.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 10, 2008 at 12:13 AM
Perhaps the should start looking back at the apartment on the south side of 8th and 11th that was busted a few years back. There is a lot of traffic between that apartment building and 932 11th. Perhaps they could finally get rid of the drugs near the park?

Posted by: anonymous on Aug 9, 2008 at 11:51 PM
if drugs were legal and the taxes on them helped build up the neighborhood, people would still blame the same people for their troubles.

Posted by: Sherry on Aug 9, 2008 at 11:36 PM
HPD did their job now if only the courts will do theirs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: Justice on Aug 9, 2008 at 11:11 PM
Now that J.T. is temporarily out of commision, who will support all his babys mommas?

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 9, 2008 at 10:36 PM
Well Latisha if the shoe fits wear it. It's not our fault that most of the crime happens in the "hood". Why does it always have to be a race issue?

Posted by: nick on Aug 9, 2008 at 10:18 PM
I think this is the second time this house has been raided within two or three years.

Posted by: nunya on Aug 9, 2008 at 08:55 PM
haha. Hey Now What, its called punctuation. You should try it sometime.

Posted by: renea on Aug 9, 2008 at 06:46 PM
HPD, DO YOU GIVE CLASSES ON CATCHING DRUG DEALERS? WAYNE COUNTY COULD USE SOME GOOD OLD FASHION TEACHING!!!!

Posted by: Now What on Aug 9, 2008 at 04:04 PM
Ok now u got them lets keep them these judges need to start sentencing these drug dealers to the max and to off set the expense put them to work leg irons and chain gangs there is plenty of work for them to do with the price of fuel i say stop using power mowers give these bums a sythe and sickle and make the mow medians and along roadways will free up enough cash for hpd to get more of them off the streets. another job quit running the street cleaners give them a broom. Its time that we take back our town and dope dealers dont like work so if they think they may have to they may pass us by and deal else where or stay in detriot

Posted by: latisha on Aug 9, 2008 at 02:49 PM
why do they only talk about drug problems in our hood. you all know that the city is full of drugs on the other side of the tracks. hpd thinks if they stay on our mens that it will go away.all you want to do is put us blacks and drugs together, whites do it to and you dont hear them getting in trouble. it is not a fair town.

Posted by: MrObvious on Aug 9, 2008 at 02:43 PM
WSAZ, they were "automatic" weapons? I suggest you ask the police again exactly what they were because "automatic" weapons are not prevalent out there. Now, "semi-automatic" weapons are more common. Don't know the difference? Well, the term automatic is used by the anti-gun crowd to invoke emotions of evil machine guns. Automaic means that it fires rapidly when you hold the trigger back. A semi-auto on the other hand, fires once with each trigger pull. It is NOT a machine gun. Many common self-defense pistols used by law-abiding citizens are semi-automatic.

The tax money would be better used to build more rehab clinics. We'd save money not having to pay so much for law enforcement and corrections officers. Too bad the politicians need the drug war since it creates more jobs not requiring an education unlike doctors and counselors at clinics. So our war on drugs is really a tool of the politicians and it hasn't worked in the 30 plus years of its existence. Time to try another approach I say. No demand = no supply.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 9, 2008 at 11:14 AM
Well, drugs didn't take Huntington over night, and it's going to take some time giving it back to the people. At least HPDs on the right track. Keep up the great work.

Posted by: Go SWAT!!! on Aug 9, 2008 at 10:56 AM
YES! WAY to GO HPD! THANK YOU! NOW to the so-called "justice" system of magistrates, judges and courts! It's up to YOU to PUT them behind bars and KEEP them there! Overcrowded jails? Tough. Stack them up on top of each other for all the rest of us care! OR build new jails instead of sending all our money to Iraq & every other place - use it to keep us AMERICANS safe here at home! The HPD is doing THEIR job so DA's;magistrates and judges? Do YOURS! THANKS AGAIN HPD and in this case, a HUGE thanks to the SWAT team! GREAT work guys!

Posted by: jenni on Aug 9, 2008 at 10:07 AM
I'm so thankful to the HPD for this. This is exactly what we need to begin restoring our neighborhoods, if it's at all possible.

Posted by: Shirley on Aug 9, 2008 at 06:34 AM
hey ????????????????? next time you need a police officer who you gonna call? Lay off the HPD,they are doing a good job.

Posted by: ????? on Aug 9, 2008 at 02:24 AM
watch out now! HPD is finally done sitting back, eating snacks, and getting fat and doing some work! it's about time HPD!

Posted by: Marr on Aug 9, 2008 at 01:58 AM
My daughter has an apartment in this area. THANKS HPD! I'm grateful for everything you have done and are still doing to combat this curse on the city.

Praise the Lord that the HPD got to this place! I'm so tired of seeing drug deals in what used to be considered a "safe neighborhood" and feeling like the police weren't doing anything about it! Thankfully, I was wrong! Keep it up! Let's get Huntington back!
