the war on crime should be taking place beyound this realm. Start at customs and truck stops. if you cut the drugs off at the source...before they reach the states...the crime on war would be succesful. The police are doing their job and trying to protect the community but this problem will still exsist if there are more drugs comming into the states to be sold. Cocaine is grown mostly in Columbia how does it get to hunnington? Not from Detroit, Columbus, or Ashland...Bust that. Dria1

I think that before people start passing judgement on any of the persumed alledged guilty parties, (they are persumed innocent until deemed otherwise by a court), they should stop to consider that the indivisuals involved are but a singular peace of the puzzle. everyone is condemming the under dogs, the real question is how do all the drugs get into our cities in the first place? The dealers are at the bottom of the food chain, these tiny busts might be making progress but some of these people involved are just another victom of the victomless crime of drug abuse. The only way to stop dealing and drug abuse is to stop the suppliers. I am not impressed. Further more half of the people that are making all these phony comments have in some way contributed to the problem by making comments only after something has happened. How many people have done something...anything to prevent all the people from falling victom to the streets? Do you care or is this just entertainment 4 u,really

My question is, Do they live in the University Apartments? If so, maybe the landlord needs to do a better background check on his tenants! Landlords are just wanting to fill their wallets and not checking backgrounds. Get the money and give them a key! Our safety doesn't matter!

Why don't they raid some of the crack houses in the west end! My neighbors and I have called for the last 3 months and have heard nothing! I guess the west end does not count.

All of the people arrested were from Ashland not detriot, or columbus

Amen JC!!! You are absolutely correct and to you anonymous... "stop worrying about the drug dealers and worry about pedophiles and other stuff because they make the street unsafe"! You're silly. Huntington now sort of resembles "The Night of the Living Dead".

Oh yea anon, I know lots of good people with that much drugs and money laying around. Get real.

Posted by: Tim on Aug 20, 2008 at 10:29 PM
Hey Ashley why dont you go into politics since you know everything and have the answers and clean up the city?

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 20, 2008 at 08:54 PM
well. the streets will never be safe. and these are actually good people. I know them quite well. theyre practically my family. So you shouldnt judge them. you should stop worryin about the drug dealers and worry about the pedophiles and other stuff because they make the street unsafe. :)

Are these people from Detroit or Columbus? maybe that's how they knew where it was from.

It's not the Motor City Bowl that have allowed this community to become innundated with drug dealers, it is the methadone clinic and the people that come from out of town, discussing their own connections of how to get drugs, and then leading those dealers here or becoming the middle man for drug deals in order to score drugs for themselves. I wish someone could research the stats of the rise in crime since that clinic opened it's door for "legal" drug dealing.

"Crack of Cocaine" lol

I agree with Rick.

I have sat back and watched over the past few years these drug bust, and I have come to realize that we really did not have a problem with the Detroit connection until Marshall University started participating in the Motor City Bowl. Not that M.U. has anything to do with it, seems like the time frame kind of fits. I have lived here for 40 plus years and analyzing the onslaught of "drug bust", I think there may be a connection. Any thoughts?

So where does the money go that they seize in these raids if it doesnt go back into the city?????? HMMMMMM Pockets of taxpayers..yeah right!!

Good job HPD.. keep em coming!!! 3 more worthless human beings off the street (for a day anyway).

Posted by: Laura on Aug 20, 2008 at 12:22 PM
Spit out the names, what are they keeping that secret for?

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 20, 2008 at 12:19 PM
legalize drugs and these people will have to get a job. this "war on drugs" has never worked. spend money looking for pedophiles and other crimes. when they got caught, other people saw their business go up. its called supply and demand.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 20, 2008 at 11:17 AM
Thank you HPD,we as citizen of Huntington should let these kind of people know that are not wanted in this city...lock them up and throw away the key!

Posted by: Ashley on Aug 20, 2008 at 10:57 AM
Hey, HPD...Do the drugs have trackin numbers? How do you know exactly where they came from...Sounds like 'PURE SPECULATION' to me. What about ALL the Huntington Drug Dealers you let go from the 8th Avenue Bar? Let me guess it linked back to Detroit and Columbus too...Gotta get the out of towners so HGTN can profit more?

keep up the good work HPD maybe one day the streets will be safe again for our children and youth
