CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One of the last big blasts of summer starts this week. Crews will close Kanawha Boulevard at 6pm Tuesday to prepare for all of the events.
Festivities kick off early. Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. is country music night at the Charleston Town Center.
On Thursday starting at 5:00 p.m., you can take the kids to the street carnival. At 9:30 p.m., Morris Day and the Time perform.
Friday night's entertainment is headlined by rockers Puddle of Mud.
Night Glow, the hot air balloons, will light up the sky. The balloons lift off at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday is a big day for the Regatta. The Charleston Distance Run starts at 7:30 a.m. The Parade starts at 11:00 a.m., followed by the Taste of Charleston at noon. Country star Jo Dee Messina takes center stage at 9:00 p.m. Saturday.
On Sunday, the anything that floats race starts at 9:00 a.m. This event lasts until 4:00 p.m. Blues Traveler will rock out at 8:30 p.m., followed by a big fireworks show at 10:00 p.m.
