UPDATE: Wednesday @ 1:53pm
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston Police announced Wednesday afternoon that two more people have been charged in connection with a credit union robbery Tuesday morning, making four suspects charged altogether.

Shearney Lee McKeller and Latisha Renee Dorsey were arrested Wednesday afternoon. Police say they conspired with Shawn Elmore and Charlene Bowman to rob The State Credit Union on Washington Street East.

According to detectives, McKeller drove the car to and from his apartment in Orchard Manor and the credit union, with Elmore and Dorsey inside. Police say that once they returned to the apartment, they all counted and divided up the money--and then headed to the mall to spend it.

Police also say they've determined that Elmore robbed the 7-Eleven on Bigley Avenue on January 5, 2007, and The State Credit Union on January 23, 2007.

UPDATE @ 4:48pm
Charleston Police arrested and charged Shawn Elmore of Alabama with robbery. His girlfriend, Charlene Bowman, was allegedly driving the getaway car and has also been taken into custody.

Elmore is originally from Alabama, but was staying with some friends at Orchard Manor.

Detectives tell WSAZ.com that they were able to trace an envelope Elmore used during the robbery back to that Orchard Manor apartment. The envelope had a postal barcode printed on it and a blank note inside.

When investigators went to the apartment, Elmore wasn't there, but people told police that he had gone shopping at the Town Center. Officers staked out the mall and Orchard Manor, and eventually caught Elmore on Hutchinson Street. They say he spent about $300 during his shopping spree.

Both Elmore and Bowman are charged with first degree robbery. They're in the South Central Regional Jail.

The State Credit Union was also robbed in 2000 and 2007. Police are looking into the possibility that Elmore robbed the same bank during the 2007 robbery. They say he was in town during that time.

Well, State Emps Always Crying...I'd post my name but don't want stalkers...you obviously haven't checked the website or you'd know State employees are barely above the poverty level, if that in some cases...I make 20K a year gross income and deal with the public and people like you daily...its not enough but it feeds my children. I'm not crying and if you'd lighten up, you'd see it was a tongue-in-cheek remark for all the stuff in the papers lately. If 20K is alot to you then by-goodness you must be very poor indeed and not just in attitude!

Perhaps its time that banks require all people entering to remove their sunglasses and hats. They don't need either to make a transaction at a bank and maybe this will cut down on their temptations.
