MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Former West Virginia University President Mike Garrison is returning to practice law.

The firm of Spilman Thomas & Battle said Friday it has hired Garrison at its Morgantown office. Garrison started working for the firm in 2003 and was named managing member of the Morgantown office in 2006.

Garrison was named WVU's president last year. He decided in June to step down over a master's degree scandal involving the governor's daughter.

C. Peter Magrath took over as interim WVU president on Aug. 1 and Garrison moved into a temporary role as an adviser. Garrison's last day on campus was Friday. His WVU employment officially ends Sunday.

Its a law firm, they would be willing take someone back when they see someone who could think the way this man thinks. Imagine the cases they could win!
