CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Cabell Midland's Brad Jenkins and Nitro's Bodie Johnson are The Associated Press state high school football co-players of the week in West Virginia.

Jenkins rushed 19 times for 233 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-34 overtime win over defending Class AAA champion Parkersburg. His TD runs covered 3, 3 and 96 yards.

Johnson threw for 391 yards and four scores in a 39-35 win over Poca, giving new head Wildcats coach John Sowards a successful debut.

Other top performances last week:

-Woodrow Wilson's Vashawn Wood ran 12 times for 223 yards, including TD runs of 51 and 58 yards, in a 41-20 win over Huntington.

-Westside's Eric Bailey ran 26 times for 242 yards and one TD and threw for 80 yards and another score in a 16-14 win over Liberty Raleigh.

-Pocahontas County's Dexter Skidmore ran for 212 yards and two TDs in a 56-15 win over Tucker County.

-Chapmanville's David Wiley ran 18 times for 214 yards while Joey Stevens ran 13 times for 118 yards in a 41-19 win over Sissonville. Stevens had TD runs of 10 and 47 yards, caught a 23-yard TD pass and returned an interception 41 yards for another score. He had two interceptions and also completed a pass attempt for 27 yards.

-Calhoun County's Randy Fluharty rushed for 235 yards and two TDs in a 58-6 win over Gilmer County.

-Poca's Caleb Arthur ran for 220 yards in the loss to Nitro.

-Logan's Derrick Perrin, returning from a neck injury that sidelined him for the final six games of the 2007 season, had three catches for 63 yards, three carries for 70 yards and returned the opening kickoff 84 yards for a score in a 14-12 win over Man. On defense he had nine tackles, two interceptions and three pass breakups.

-St. Marys' Zac Anderson ran for 179 yards and scored four times in a 53-6 win over Ritchie County.

-South Charleston's Marcel Brown completed 7-of-12 passes for 206 yards and two TDs in a 28-8 win over Riverside.

-Mount Hope's DaVon Marion ran 15 times for 148 yards and four TDs and returned a kickoff 75 yards for another score in a 43-13 win over Summers County.

-Hurricane's Terrell Martin ran 18 times for 171 yards and three TDs in a 37-14 win over Winfield.

-Lewis County sophomore C.J. Rahming rushed eight times for 160 yards and one score in a 42-14 win over Liberty Harrison. It marked the first time since 2003 that Lewis County won its opener.

-Bridgeport's Wes Tonkery ran for 143 yards and two TDs in a 37-6 win over Bridgeport.

-University's Brandon Tucker ran nine times for 139 yards and four TDs in a 47-13 win over North Marion.

-Wirt County's Tom McCoy ran for 143 yards and three TDs in a 39-6 win over Valley Fayette.

-Parkersburg South's Hunter Ferguson ran 14 times for 147 yards and three TDs in a 49-0 win over McKinley Tech, D.C. Teammate Chanz Jarrell added 140 yards and two TDs.

-Capital's Keion Wright ran 25 times for 175 yards in a 19-7 loss to George Washington.

You know, there is another high school in Wayne County.Even though Tolsia gets no respect from anyone else,our community is always behind the Rebels.
