CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Charleston man faces drunken driving
charges after police spotted him riding a farm tractor on a highway
without lights or proper warning signs.

Kanawha County sheriff's deputies arrested 22-year-old Joshua
David Postalwait early Friday morning.

A complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court said
deputies were responding to a report of an intoxicated man on a
tractor when they saw the tractor on Casdorph Road.

Postalwait was charged with driving under the influence and
carrying a concealed weapon.

He was being held Friday afternoon at South Central Regional
Jail. Magistrate court officials did not know whether he has a
lawyer.

SOUNDS LIKE GOOD OLE BY GOD WEST VIRGINIA

This is really sad. My dad had a DUI on a tractor, he also would drive our riding lawnmower to the bar outside of town because my mom would not let him have the car keys. It really is a horrible sickness when you go to these extremes. He passed away this past June from his "illness". I guess he just never could silence his demons that drove him to his alcoholism. I hope this guy gets help. Its not really a laughing matter when at such a young age of 22 you are letting something as stupid as alcohol affect your entire future.

He was just trying to live out Larry Sparks song: I'm like a John Deer tractor, in a half acre field. Trying to plow a furrow where the soil is made of steel. Oh I wish I was home Lord, where the bluegrass grows and the sweet country girls don't complain.

"she might have taken my car keys, but she forgot about my ol' John Deere"

Wait a minute though...isn't Vince coming to Charleston or is it Ashland soon for a concert? Hmmmmm, maybe that WAS Vince riding his John Deere up here for that if Amy (Grant) took away his car keys Anyway, I LOVE Vince so this made me think about that old video and song. Great song. Great video. STUPID guy here in reality though out on the road driving ANYTHING while drunk. Also I said we would probably make national news in my other post, then I saw it WAS the AP that reported it to begin with not a local news source. Great. ALREADY on national news. Go Mountaineers! Us rednecks and our tractors!

It WAS a country song several years ago wasn't it? Vince Gill had a video of him & George Jones riding their John Deere's since their wives had taken their car keys. Guess this guy is a Gill/Jones fan lol. OR maybe he thought that his tractor would help him pick up women like Kenney Chesney's song..."She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy"! Bet we'll bake national news with this one

I think auto makers could design a Nerfcar that would only go 35mph be made out of foam rubber and be totaly safe in a head on collision , then we could all go back to drinking and driving ,happy motoring !
