VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - The Virginia Beach SPCA is putting up for adoption 23 dogs rescued from a West Virginia puppy mill.

The dachshunds, Jack Russell terriers and cocker spaniels will be available Thursday.

The local animal-adoption group traveled to a Parkersburg, West Virginia, kennel in late August as part of an effort to rescue more than 1,000 dogs that were living in poor conditions.

About 115 dogs were brought to the Virginia Beach SPCA. They underwent medical and behavioral assessments.

42 were adopted and 16 were placed in foster homes to improve their social skills.

The remaining dogs are being treated and assessed.

I Am so glad to hear the flea market will be rebuilt. I do enjoy spending time together with my husband and taking a day together and just looking around at all the different things the vendors have. And it is a fun time when you run into friends. Oh Please do rebuild , It is a special place to all.
