DINGESS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Drug charges landed two men from Mingo County in jail.

Deputies arrested Curtis Romans and Herman Vance this week after officers say the two men sold Oxycontin to undercover agents several times.

Romans and Vance are charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of conspiracy.

Romans and Vance are being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail.

I agree with you Tommy. You can go to Williamson during the week and they are standing outside waiting to get into this Doctors' offices. They even line up outside in the cold of winter or the pouring rain to get into see these Dr. You know something is up when people do stuff like that. I glad they caught these guys but there is sure a WHOLE LOT more where they came from!

What happened to the 11,000 pot plants down there that was reciently taken out of 17 different fields all on beech ridge? Never anymore said, it being one of the biggest hauls in the states history. It took a bunch of serious farmers to tend this patch! Maybe, No it couldn't have been some of the good old boys..

here is how it works. The Dr's get paid by the RX companys to write a certain prescription and the RX companys lobby our leaders in DC and Charleston so they can make the most money they can from their drug that the Dr. is prescribing. Most of the politicians in state and fed. gov are lawyers who have infulance at the local level. The local cops hands are tied behind their backs as far as funding and the such to go after the Dr's that are making zombies of people. Until the politicians stop taking the treats the lobbiests hand out, all we can do is sit back and watch and just keep re-electing the same people in charleston and washington. its never gona change because there is too much money to be made at the top.

Amy, I know if they're from dingess it's likely that they are cousins. It's common that they marry their 1st cousins and a lot of them are 1st cousins on both sides of the family, just like here on gilbert creek. They would just about have to be at least 2nd or 3rd cousins. Like the Clines and Lesters over here they believe in keeping it in the family, no matter what it is!

It all begins with these rogue doctors practicing under the premise of "pain management." In order for these prescriptions to be valid, they must be intended for a legitimate medical purpose. Going to a doctor's office and paying a huge office fee and getting what you want is not a legitimate medical purpose. There are a few of those doctors in Mingo County as there are also a few in Huntington as well. Being a pharmacist, I do not accept prescriptions from such doctors and I also do not accept prescriptions from these doctors in Florida. If you are from Kentucky, WV, or OH and are driving to Florida to get prescriptions for narcotics or are having prescriptions mailed to you after you submit a payment, you are up to no good--plain and simple. These prescriptions are also illegal. In many cases, the people who obtain Oxycontin and other narcotics aren't addicted to them---they merely sell them because that's easy income. If you see a "pain doc" who is 2 hours away, you're up to no good

agreed charles...they know that the pills are being givin to anybody and everybody that drives to FL..seems no one cares,shut down the pill mills (docs with all the KY,WV OH plates in there parking lots) put them in jail!! the sheriff of greenup co went down there and said it was very easy to tell the docs that r doing it no FL plates in there parking lots.it just that easy

It's about time the officials go into the forbidden part of WV and catch these drug dealers. When are you going into Logan Co.? These places are worse than Charleston or Huntington you just never hear about it on the news! I grew up in Logan County and it was a wonderful place to grow up (20 yrs ago) as a teen if we got into anything our parents knew about it before it got bad, Everyone watched out for eachother. But as my generation grew up (And the ones of us that got an education and made a life for ourselves moved on) the others stayed behind and made drugs their life, knowing that nothing is going to be done because they have BACKWOODS politics on their side. It's time that all these drugs be cleaned up.

I have a better question. What are cops doing buying drugs while on duty? Shouldn't they be charged with something? They even admit to doing it "several times". I guess it's all about who you know.

southern wv is loaded with prescription drug abuse but it will never stop until the doctors are caught as well. Arresting the abusers is only half of the problem. Go after these pill happy doctors that are practically giving it out!

Why is it the police never get the Doctors in this area that are the root of the pill problems. I live in mingo county, everyone knows the doctors that you can go to with some cash and get scripts for pain meds. its been going on for years, there is a doctor in williamson that people come from miles around to get there pills, why is it the police does nothing to this doctor? I'll tell you why someone high up is being paid off! Im not saying he men in this story should be let go, but i just wish someone would to something to this doctor that clearly is supplying all these pills to people in the williamson area

Drs. start people on these drugs and then stop writing the scrips and they are hooked by then and will do anything to get these drug because they are hooked on them. Drug companies hound Drs. to get people on them , knowing that they will get hooked on them. It's so sad, but true.

I truly wish this country and state had capital punishment laws for drug dealers. That is the main way to stop drug use.

The drug companys manufacture many times the actual need of these drugs . Ask yourself why would they do that and why would the government allow it to happen ?This is my personal theory but somewhere along the line someone came up with a plan to compete with all the illegal drugs coming in form south america asia and aganistan by coming up with a domestic source of drugs to keep the vast amount of cash from getting into the hands of foriegn interests sounds far fetched rite ? Think back to the Reagan era when a war in Nicaragua was fought with drug money because our house and senate wouldnt fund it .I read about U.S. Air Force C5As landing around the country packed with drugs so it not that far fetched to think drug comapnys and the goverment are into to distribution and profit .
