CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A new group representing West Virginia
state government workers plans to host more than 150 of their
fellow union members, including some from a dozen other counties,
at a pair of forums that begin this weekend.

Local 170 of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers
union will help hold a regional meeting Saturday in Charleston for
the union's chapters in West Virginia and seven other eastern
states.

The group has also gotten commitments from public employee union
members in Canada, Mexico, South America, Asia and Europe for a
coinciding conference that runs Saturday through Tuesday.

The dual schedule includes a Saturday rally at Haddad Riverfront
Park, and one Monday at the state-run Mildred Mitchell-Bateman
Hospital in Huntington in support of workers there.

bateman is suppose to be at 3:00 Monday 10-20-08 every working person who has ever been employed by an employer who has little consistancy and only cares about themselves and never about equality for the employees should be there for support if or if not a memeber of an union...treating someone consistantly and fairly is a right everyone deserves...I hope there is a huge turnout to support these employees their job is tough enough without management playing games with someone's support of themselves and their family. Let's support these employee and show them that we care about them and appreciate the job they try to do each day.

maybe some Union take advantage, but if you were a state employee you would understand the inconsistancy of management decisions and actions. you would also understand how lop sided the decisons are when a grievence is filed...right now that process is a great waste of taxpayer money. someone or something must make a stand and unite the workers for a more consistant employment and to provide the taxpayers the most for their money. Also to provide the best service for the citizens of the State of WV, or whatever state it happens to be. You should walk in the shoes before you complain. The only one that should complain is management or those who govern the jobs it is their authority that may be in question and expose for what it is.

Unions have ruined this country and spoiled workers. No wonder companies outsource to India and Mexico.
