CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Hundreds of workers who lost their jobs at Century Aluminum in Ravenswood attended a rally at the State Capitol Wednesday.

The "Turn America Around Rally" started at 12:30 p.m. in the lower rotunda.

More than two hundred made the trip down from Ravenswood to attend the West Virginia AFL-CIO rally. The rally was staged partly to thank House of Delegates members for passing a resolution Wednesday urging federal stimulus dollars to only be spent on domestic products and workers.

Gov. Joe Manchin told the crowd of roughly 150 that he supports foreign companies bringing jobs to West Virginia, but the nation cannot subsidize the loss of jobs here to other countries.

Regional United Steelworkers leader Billy Thompson says buying products and creating jobs in the U.S. is the surest way to end the recession.

To "Concerned" Amen! Have you ever tried to write Rockefeller or Byrd? Regardless of what the issue is, their reply is that they are smarter than we are, that's why they're in office and they know what we need better than we do!

There are a lot of our leaders are only concerned with helping themselves and not helping the people that put them in office.
