HUNTINGTON, W.Va (WSAZ) -- In an effort to foster healthy eating habits in Cabell County, Cabell Huntington Hospital is donating $130,000 to the cause.

As "Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution" wrapped up filming Saturday, Cabell Huntington Hospital announced that they would be donating $50,000 to keep Jamie's Kitchen up and running even after Jamie Oliver and his production crew leaves town.

December 1, Ebenezer Medical Outreach will take over managing the community kitchen in Pullman Square and will operate with the help of donations.

In a press release, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cabell Huntington Hospital Brent Marsteller said, "Jamie's Kitchen has tremendous potential to improve eating habits and the overall health of our community... We are very pleased to join with Ebenezer Medical Outreach, Jamie Oliver and the entire Huntington area to work together to prevent many of the problems associated with unhealthy eating."

In addition to the donation to Jamie's Kitchen, the hospital is also donating $80,000 to change the eating habits of Cabell County students, and expand Jamie Oliver's healthy food program to all 28 of the county's schools.

In the release, Oliver said, "I want Huntington to be a shining example and I really dream that in the next two to three years, every school is changed."

The donation will help Sustainable Food Systems and Cabell County's public schools to change lunch menus, train cooks and work fresher ingredients into meals.

It is sad that cabell huntington hospital can give out money, but eliminate jobs and not make people full time. I am sorry that the only reason people in huntington want to get healthier is because of a statistics report, but just quit eating the wrong foods and go work out or walk. Its not hard to find the right food if you look past the ho hos and the twinkies.

Why? Cabell County schools just got hundreds of thousands if not millions from the Economic Stimulus.
