CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - As their candidate resists calls to bow out, several hundred West Virginians waited more than an hour to urge Hillary Clinton to continue her Democratic presidential bid.

Driven inside by rain, supporters packed the state Capitol's Rotunda to see the New York senator during Thursday's three-state blitz in the waning weeks of the primary season.

Vietnam veteran Gary Johngrass drove up from Lincoln County to join the rally. He says Clinton would boost funding for VA hospitals and benefits for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.

Angela White says Clinton understands working-class and rural citizens better than Barack Obama and Republican John McCain. The 34-year-old mother of two supports Clinton because she sees the country as headed in the wrong direction.

Actually, he can and will beat McBush...because most Democrats are looking beyond that beautiful complexion of his and saying "enuff is enuff"...lets get the White House back.

Di -- Let someone hold the Obama poster when this inexperienced "protege" tries to use his charm to pull our country out of its current Bush-created crisis. I am consistently amazed at how stupid our citizens have become. The Clintons have demonstrated an ability to lead and deliver on issues related to middle-class Americans. All Obama (Ebola) has done is give speeches.

Those of you who think Obama would be the better president you should ask yourselves if you really think it's a good idea to let someone run a country who hasn't even had three years in the senate. If you thought Bush was bad youve seen nothing until you put the pressures of a war, declining economy and a healthcare crisis on a person with almost no experience. Democrats who are voting for Obama should think about that. What will happen is the country will be worse off and then republicans will be in the white house again in four years....you can bet on that. Obama may be a good president, but not yet.

According to the New York Times, "Mrs. Clinton endured boos when she mentioned her proposal for a gasoline tax holiday, catcalls when she spoke of ending the Iraq war and, most difficult of all, the heckling of her daughter, Chelsea, who introduced her." This was yesterday at Shepherdstown, WV. I was surprised not to see anything about it in the Charleston Newspapers. “End the dynasty!” a young man holding an Obama poster shouted when Chelsea Clinton stepped to the microphone

Go get 'em Hillary! Ignore the naysayers and keep focused on the Presidency!

Hillary is going to boost funding for VA Hospitals and benefits for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans? So I guess Obama is just going to sit back and eliminate the VA hospitals and turn his back on vets. Wake up! And Angela, saying Clinton understands working-class and rural citizens better than Barak Obama and McCain is a polite way of saying you have no understanding of the issues the candidates stand for. If the national picture has to rely on West Virginians to determine the layout for the rest of the race we are in bad shape. Please do your part to give us a good image instead of the pigeon hole approach that worked for your grand daddy years ago.

Never quit while there is a chance. He may get the nomination but make him earn it. Don't just give it to him.He can't beat McBush and that is tragic. We cannot survive 4 more years of him.

Hang in there Hillary and don't quit! We need you to be the next president of this country. You are the one most qualified for the position. You've got my vote next week.
