POINT PLEASANT, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- Two of three Mason County volunteer firefighters accused of arson were indicted by a grand jury this week.

Jamar Cuthbertson and Brent Kapp both face arson and conspiracy charges.

The prosecutor did not present the arson case involving the county 911 director's daughter, Kim Blake.

Last month, arson charges against Blake were dismissed after some controversial subpoena problems.

County attorney Damon Morgan told the Point Pleasant Register "the Blake case is not a dead issue. Once some legal issues are resolved, the case can be presented at a later time."

Morgan told the paper there is no statute of limitation for arson.

as far as I know Mr Baltic was ready to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law so tell me blake power hasn't rose again to defend his kids and get them out of trouble once again its black and white read the paper no charges have been taken against her and I hear she gave them evidence so they are not prosecuting her it sure don't work like that for my family and back to ems working its still a county job what difference does it make which one it is the $$$ comes from the same place and mommy & daddy run it and yes right next door to the fd and brent had 2 charges and then he got 4 charges when indicitments came out so he got her 2 charges think about it they have to give her charges to someone so why not brent looks good to damon and the blakes so the courts just go with the flow damon needs out of there as bad as chuck does I'm considering moving from this place because its such bad politics all this county knows it certainly sucks to live in mason county

You were right she does have her job back working for the EMS. She shouldnt have any county jobs considering the charges she has pending against her. I know that I wouldnt want her to come put out my house that is on fire, or put my life in her hands in the back off the squad. It is nothing but one big conspiracy in this county, including the courts. A couple of my friends work on the EMS, and they got kicked off the schedule all but 1 or 2 shifts A MONTH. And Kim and a friend of hers got 6 and 7 days a week. If you are in good with the Blakes then it is alright. And these friends of mine have been there every since they have been old enough to join. ALL of the Blakes are prejudice. It isn't right. I know that if this were me I would be locked up with the key thrown away. I know that life isn't fair, but we can change this if we all work together. We need to start a petition against ALL the BLAKES. Get the Blakes out of there!!!!

as i have stated before, blake did not admit to anything, which is probably the legal issue. not sure, but i don't think the prosecutor would have made that decision without properly thinking about it. remember, you can know someone is guilty but can you prove. i am sure the case against kim blake is not dead!!

It is too bad that we don't have another candidate to run against Damron Morgan because it is clear that he is not going to prosecute the daughter of the 911 director.

Recall the "lost supoena" incident and Prosecuting Attorney Damon Morgan dropping all felony arson charges against Kim Blake. That made news with WSAZ and the Charleston Gazette, so Damon Morgan tells the reporters he had no choice due to the State Fire Marshall not being present at her hearing. Well, the State Fire Marshall says he'll have the investigation on Morgan's desk by Morgan's deadline. Grand Jury meets this Month. One would think the Prosecuting Attorney would consider it a top priority to seek an indictment against Kim Blake this time, considering all the suspicion of family ties and political corruption. Nope, the Blakes obviously have immunity from prosection in Mason Co. Drag it out long enough and it will quit making news.

I agree with mason cpunty sukz the chances of blake getting in any kind of trouble are slim. Everythign revolves around who knows who its every where and her daddy will save her while she is just as guilty as the other 2.

Well, did anyone expect anything different!... And if it had been my son or daughter they would have been gone a long time ago < > Where do we all go from here? Next it will be her job back.Oh, I forgot ...she didn't do nothing*** oh sure. Need a good lawyer you all know where to find one, ha!~~~

EVERYONE IN MASON COUNTY FIGURED THIS WOULD HAPPEN ITS NOT RIGHT AND NOTHING WILL EVER BE DONE!!! ITS CALLED FAMILY TIES WHICH IS A BUNCH OF BULL BUT THATS MASON COUNTY FOR YOU...SHE ADMITTED TO DOING IT WHAT MORE DO THEY NEED?

Posted by: Concerned on May 9, 2008 at 10:13 PM
I guess this is the typical Mason County Judicial system at work. I bet if I, or anyone else without the last name of Blake, committed this crime it would have been sent to the Grand Jury ASAP. Looks like the Blake family came up with enough money to delay the case a little longer. Jeff Clendenin for County Commission.
