CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -The second time was the charm for
Natalie Tennant.
Tennant was successful in her second try at gaining theDemocratic nomination for the Secretary of State's race.
The former West Virginia University Mountaineer mascot,broadcaster and 2004 candidate easily outpaced the second-place finisher, House Majority Leader Joe DeLong of Hancock County.
Senate Majority Whip Billy Wayne Bailey of Wyoming County was the other Democratic challenger.
In November, Tennant will face Republican Charles Minimah, a Charleston businessman who ran unopposed for his party's nomination. Minimah hopes to keep the office in the GOP column by succeeding incumbent Betty Ireland.
