WINFIELD, W. Va. (WSAZ) -- Incumbents usually have an uneasy existence in Putnam County, but Tuesday night voters in the bedroom community rewarded their politicians.
Incumbent County Commissioner Steve Andes fought back a challenge from Jerry Lilly, 53% to 47%. Andes will face Democrat Bob Leslie in November.
Incumbent Judge O.C. Spaulding beat challenger Rosalee Juba-Plumley with 62% of the vote. Spaulding did not accept campaign contributions in his bid for re-election. He has no opposition in the fall.
Phillip Stowers beat David Hill in the other judge's race. Stowers will face Republican incumbent Ed Eagloski in November.
On the Putnam County Board of Education, voters returned Jack Coyner and Sam Sentelle. Sentelle was a lock for re-election as he was the only candidate in his district.
