KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Joe Manchin, Robert Byrd, Jay Rockefeller… and Phillip “Icky” Frye? Maybe that last one doesn't quite roll off the tongue as a prominent democrat, but if you're John McCain it does.

The reason Phillip Frye got into politics was an affair he'd never imagined. That's because he accused his wife of having an affair with then governor bob wise.

Frye had his 15 minutes of fame as he ran for governor. But today the clock is ticking again. as Frye is back in the political spotlight.

He was a long shot for governor, but this democrat is ready to pull the trigger on an endorsement for Republican Senator John McCain.

At one time, Phillip Frye had the democratic ticket for governor in a tailspin. Some questioned his political sincerity. That's because he admitted he was running to be a nuisance to Governor Bob Wise, the man he accused of having an affair with his wife.

A list out Saturday has Frye listed as a prominent democrat reaching across the aisle to support the Senator McCain's effort to show he has bipartisan support.

We asked Senator McCain’s camp what makes up a prominent democrat, and they didn't give us specifics, but they did release a statement.

It says in part, "We appreciate the growing support we've received in West Virginia... They (supporters) join thousands of independents and Democrats who recognize that John McCain is the only candidate with the bipartisan record to deliver the change we need."

Frye told us today he is seriously considering a run for office in the future.

Yeah, Ickeys a genius all right. What does a cheap Wal-Mart t-shirt have to do with anything? The guys a d-bag. I wish he would stay out of the news and stop embaressing us. If his hadn't cheated on him with the governor, nobody would know or care about him. Music?? The Heat? Give me a break, I've heard grade school choirs that are better. The guys a joke.

Phil Frye is a highly intellgent man. He has done things most of you who criticize him can only dream about doing. He has ran for governor, had local and national media coverage, runs his own business and has played music with some top performers. Not to mention that you should take a closer look at the shirt he was wearing. Looks to me like he is doing very well for himself. How many of you can say you have done all of that? Rock On Bass Man!

Demkiller. I would say that to Ickeys face, but I can't get close enough to him without laughing. The guy looks like a Saturday Night Live reject. He looks like Bozo the Clown on meth. If this guy is a "prominent" Democrat, then I'm switching to the Green Party.

Hey GOP..just read your post along with all the other insults, I would pay money to see you face Icky and call him an idiot,I know him, just refer to the shirt he had on in the clip, he doesn't ware that just for fashion, it's my bet, he would put you to sleep faster than your Grandmother could say "once upon a time" kind of easy to hide behind a screen name huh. You Go ICKY!!!

I can't believe John McCain is actually bragging about having his support. Prominent democrat? noone would even know who he is if it weren't for his wife cheating on him. Maybe she cheated because they don't call him "icky" for nothing. LOL.

CH. 3 is the best news you can find to report? For someone to say we want more troops killed more, more women & children killed in Iraq.Remember ENRON. Remember the smart men in the past DDE (Ike) said do not let the penagon & military run this country. Melvin Laird tried to get Bush 41 to talk to his son and not send troops to Iraq. Mr Laird said we work together & reach across the isle or we fail. John S Cooper of KY did just that and we were better off. Bush Jr & Mitch McConnell got us into this mess spending billions we need in this country. Some say cut taxes & borrow more from China & other countries. How does that work for us? Soon China will say we can't let you have more money you can't pay back what we have let you have now. Then what do we do? No more credit taxes cut to the bone what do we do now we cannot pay our bill. Can't borrow money Think get your heads out of the sand people. Four more years of McBush and China can take us over with firing a shot th.

I know Icky, I went to school with Icky, Icky is a good guy, he may have his politics a little off cue but he's overall a good guy.....and he always liked KISS and Alice Cooper so he can't be all that bad.

McCain doesn't really need this kind of support. Icky is an idiot. Jon, I hope you are not making your voting decisions based upon the looks of someone. McCain is an American hero and can't even hold his arms over his head from the torture he suffered in Vietnam. Wake up and look at the issues.

If you're going to insult a persons intelligence, at least use the correct form of your.

Do we really care what Icky's Frye's thoughts are on John McCain? Honestly who cares what he thinks. Only reason he is in the news is that torrid love affair his wife had w/the ex Gov. Wise...right or wrong??!!

I think McCain is icky. That thing on his neck and his worn out smile and green teeth. Yuk

Maybe Icky likes capitalism and freedom and not Marxism? Do the Icky Shuffle West Virginia. Vote john McCain!

Concidering what we have to choose from McCain is our best bet. Look at what we have now in WV and they are trying to us make us vote for Obama. Our state has the most corupt political system in the entire country no doubt or the world for that matter. Don Blankenship is starting to look good compaired to these people we have in WV as our so called political leaders. Cecil Roberts sold out the union members that elected him just as Spike sold out the voters in WV that elected him. Don is a winner for his company that trusted him as their leader. In these last days he will try to make a deal with St. Peter at the golden gates too ! Our leaders in WV now aren't for us the voters so why should we keep on electing them? Where has Rockefeller and Manchin gotten us today, just higher taxes and prices on everything anywhere you want to look. WE the citizens and taxpayers of WV can't take anymore of this kind of leadership we have now..

your real smart......not..lol

Posted by: booger on Jun 18, 2008 at 08:53 AM
WSAZ... PLEASE do not put this guy back in the news. All we need is for the "Daily Show" to come back and interview him again. My bet is McCain has no idea who this guy is. Somehow his name got put on a mailing list. Please don't let him embarass this state again. Keep him out of the news... For the state of WV if not for anything else.

Well, ICKY and McCain in the same sentence sounds about right to me! And I agree with Mike...Icky must be another war monger who hates the little people & loves the huge corporations and big oil. Oh yea, a vote for McCain is DEFINITELY voting Bush in for a third term. We'll never survive another one even though, don't get me wrong, I don't like Obama (or Hillary) either. But what choice do we have? NONE.
