LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A former Hollywood tough guy is pulling
no punches in his new role as Libertarian Party challenger to the
U.S. Senate Minority Leader from Kentucky.
Sixty-seven-year-old Sonny Landham said at an afternoon news
conference in Frankfort that he is running to win.
Landham was known on screen for his powerful physique, booming
voice and his American Indian heritage. In films, he tangled with
Sylvester Stallone, Carl Weathers and the Predator.
Landham says that he's serious about his longshot against
Republican Mitch McConnell and that too many politicians are
indifferent to voters' problems.
Landham promises to keep his campaign simple. He says --quote --
"it's about the economy, which nobody in this whole election year
is truly speaking about."
