A new poll released from Rasmussen Reports Friday night indicated that presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain still holds a solid lead over presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

The latest poll has McCain up 51% to 35% over Obama. That is a closer margin than May, when McCain lead 57% to 32%.

McCain has a significant lead in male voters at a near 30% advantage, but only leads Obama by 4% among female voters. Another significant number is that McCain gets supports from a third of Democrat voters in Kentucky.

Rasmussen Reports considers Kentucky as "safely Republican" at this point.
