GRAYSON, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Kentucky's Democratic candidate for the US Senate was pumping gas and priming for votes in our neck of the woods Monday.

Businessman Bruce Lunsford spent the midday hours working the pumps at the Somerset gas station in downtown Grayson.

The day labor is part of the Louisville businessman's "On the Job" tour through the commonwealth. Lunsford says as senator, he would work harder for a gas tax holiday, work to free up and use more homeland gas reserves, push more for US gas exploration and fast track coal to gas technology.

"I think we need some new energy, new blood, ask some new questions. And I don't look at this as a long term approach, I think it's something I'm going to put all of my energy into and make a change, be more of a senator that brings something new to the table," Senate Candidate Bruce Lunsford said.

Lunsford is running against 24 year Republican incumbent and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
