LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell's re-election
campaign says he raised more than $3 million in campaign
contributions in the second-quarter of 2008.

McConnell's campaign manager Justin Brasell said it is a record
amount for quarterly fundraising in Kentucky and will be filed with
the Federal Election Commission on July 15.

McConnell is the Senate's top Republican leader. He faces a
challenge from Democrat and businessman Bruce Lunsford in the fall.
Actor Sonny Landham is running under the banner of the Libertarian
Party.

The McConnell Senate Committee reported raising over $850,000
during April and more than $2.16 million in May and June to close
out the quarter.

Lunsford's campaign did not immediately return a message seeking
comment. Landham's campaign did not immediately return an e-mail
message.

Time to rid Ky of this bush clone, and maybe his wife who is the U.S.Sec.of Labor.Between the both of them the mine laws have been so lax that mine owners have gave $2,000,000. to Mitch's reelection fund, which under Ky.law is his to keep if he loses reelection.Remember this is the same guy who voted 3 times against the bill to insure Ky school children saying as an excuse "someone might lie and get coverage" also how about the only bill he wrote in last 5 years,$30,000,000. Victory party for veterans, guess who was going to throw it!Ex Sen.and now prisoner Ney.
