HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Members of the Huntington Firefighters and Police Political Action Committees plan to endorse Kim Wolfe for mayor Wednesday in a joint appearance.

The campaign signs started going up in some yards in Huntington last week.

Sheriff Wolfe faces incumbent mayor David Felinton for the job.

Felinton told WSAZ last week he knew his decision to rework pensions would put him at odds with police and firefighters, but it has to be done.

Both candidates are working to gain the support of the other city worker unions, which have supported Felinton in the past.

Mayor Felington is doing the right thing as far as benefits for police/firemen. They are acting like "crybabies", there are folks here in this city w/o benefits, insurance, etc. They want Kim Wolfe because hes still part of the "ole boy" network. Which has always kept Huntington from catching up to the rest of the nation. So stop being selfish you "public servants" and do your jobs proudly, no matter the situation. Thank You!!!

Mayor Felinton is a good man. Everyone seems to forget it doesn't matter who is in office, what matters is if there is money. And Jean Dean is the reason for the Huntington Mall being in Barboursville. I think county workers should be silent on who they are voting for, It just causes hard feelings, and if they dont get there way then they will throw the excuse you knew I voted for the other and are holding that against me. God Bless all. And my vote is for MAYOR FELINTON. But I do think Mr. Wolfe is a very nice family man.

My hope for election day is that people are realistic. This goes for local and national races. There are problems in this country. There are money problems most face daily but I hope you keep in mind sometimes decisions have to be made. No one wants to make the sacrifices needed but sometimes it has to happen. Felinton has stepped up to the plate and has done what he had to. This city needs someone who will take care of the WHOLE city...not just the police and fire or the major supporters. There are hard decisions to be made for Huntington...be realistic in your choice and not just pick one b/c its a change. If you speak to any of the Deputies in this county they will tell you Wolfe did nothing for them as Sheriff.

VOTE KIM WOLFE FOR MAYOR. THERE IS NO DOUBT HE WILL MAKE A BETTER MAYOR WHEN IT COMES TO POLICE PROTECTION. THIS MAN HAS DONE IT FOR SO MANY YEARS. HE KNOWS WHAT IT TAKES TO BRING IN GOOD POLICE OFFICERS AND WHAT IT IS LIKE TO GET PAID NOTHING WHILE RISKING HIS LIFE. IT APPEARS TO ME ALSO THAT SHERIFF WOLFE ALSO REALIZES HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO BRING IN SOMEONE WHO WILL SUPPORT THE LOCAL POLICE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST THE HORRIBLE EPIDEMIC OF DRUG ADDICITON. WOLFE HAS BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT WHEN IT COMES TO UNDERSTANDING THE JOB OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND WHAT IT TAKE TO GET THE CITIZENS TO FULLY SUPPORT THE LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMUNITY...GOOD LUCK KIM WOLFE....

I really don't think you can give Felinton credit for pullman square just because the ground breaking was done while he was mayor. All of the planning and money allocation happened in 1998/1999 while Jean Dean was mayor, so if anyone should get credit it would be her.

Wise choice IMHO

Every time I drive past Pullman Square I think about all of the Huntington mayors that couldn't get it done. He isn't perfect, but Felinton still has my vote.
