LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell used his
speech at the Republican National Convention to praise John
McCain's valor as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.

McConnell says his Senate colleague would display the same
character as commander in chief.

The four-term Kentucky senator spoke on the third night of the
GOP convention in St. Paul, Minn.

He said McCain's heroism as a prisoner of war is only one reason
to vote for McCain. McConnell said what McCain endured as a captive
showed the type of character he would take to the White House.

McConnell often mentions McCain on the campaign trail, though
the two have differed on some key issues in the past - most notably
campaign-finance reform.

McConnell also praised McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin,
saying people have come to respect and admire her record. Since her
selection as McCain's running mate, the Alaska governor has come
under intense scrutinty.

The disclosures included the pregnancy of her unmarried
17-year-old daughter, and that a private attorney is authorized to
spend $95,000 of state money to defend her against accusations of
abuse of power.

McCain's time as a prisoner might have caused him some degree of mental illness , He seems out of touch so do those who will vote for him . If they(republicans) get in again this will be the final decline of the United States . I see a time in the near future when the russians will use their military mite to make us bow down to their will . We are spread to thin now and we can never catch up to the military expansion the russians have acheived , our days are numbered if they get in again !We are in debt 11 trillion to china not to mention what the treasury has printed with nothing to back it up . The republicans have purposely run our economy into the ground I guess they decided it wasnt worth saving , starving people will work for a lot less than minium wage!

If you go to Mc Cain's website there they are tooting his capture- that gives him creditials to be President? I went to school- may I be a Principal now, Mr. Smith and other Board of Educations?

With all due respect, Mc Cain possibly should not had been flying that plane. Graduating so close to the bottom of his Naval Academy, he probably should had been given a car to drive rather than another plane to crash. Nepotism might had gone a long way - too far. Now he thinks he deserves to be President along with the woman who up stages him but he does not know that yet. He stands by her playing with his fingers, looking lost. Cindy find him and sit him beside you.

I think it time that McCain start running on his record, if he has one . People who has a child, husband, son, father, brother, mother, daughter' sister names on the Wall in Washington DC. He did wake up this morning in his bed at home. Maybe he needs to take a walk day down by it. He vote against Veterans benefits and to cut them. Most Veterans I know was in the Vietnam War was in the bad part or action won't even talk about it. Beacuse my husband is one of those people. If that all he got to run on we are all going to be in touble. The Rep. had control for last eight years. Nothing change.Same old thing Gays,Abortions,Guns. They didn't change a thing. For as Mitch McConnell they need to run him out of town on a rail. BIG MONEY. MAYBE A PERSON SHOULD CHECK WHAT HIS WIFE FAMILY DO AND WHERE THEY'RE ARE FROM??? "CHINA" No wonder all our jobs are going there and we owe Trillons dollars to them. She Sec. of Labor Chao. So my vote will be to Obama and Biden come Nov

The constant references to John McCain's military experience are disgusting. It's okay to mention it every now and then, but every single speech talks about it. My uncle was a P.O.W. and is absolutely disgusted by McCain's political tactics. What happened to the big deal with Flip-Flopping? It was huge a huge deal in 2004, now it's nothing... McCain used to be much more liberal than he is now. And does anyone remember that lovely speech in c.2000 when George W. Bush called him 'crazy'? This party is so corrupt, it sounds like a science fiction novel.

Well I did not want to vote for an Afro- American or a women, but it looks like I don't have a choice now. I hope Ralph Nader is on the ballet.

SARAH PALIN is VERY HOT Im voting for McCain because she is HOT

I'm sick of hearing about McCain's POW status. It was after all, McCain, who said in 2004 that John Kerrey was using his veteran's status too much. But when you've got nothing else to run on, then bring POW up!
