CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- New polling from Mark Blankenship Enterprises shows the John McCain/Sarah Palin Republican presidential ticket has a 5% lead over the Barack Obama/Joe Biden Democratic presidential ticket in West Virginia.

A poll of 432 registered and likely voters taken over this last weekend shows McCain/Palin with 44% support compared to 39% support for Obama/Biden. 17% of voters are undecided.

MBE points out that 27% of those undecided voters define themselves as Independents. So far, McCain is grabbing a majority of those Independent voters in West Virginia.

The poll shows 45% of likely voters identify themselves as conservative in West Virginia, regardless of Democrat, Republican or Independent registration.

The democrats have been in control for two years. Most bills that they want to pass require 2/3 of the senate since they only won by a slim margin they cannot accomplish all that they want too. Not to mention the fact that the president can veto anything he wants. When all else fails, blame the democrats and Clinton. It is getting old. 6 of the last eight years republicans have been in complete control and for the most part they still are. It is ridiculous to blame a party that has only been in control of the senate for two years for the problems we have faced for the last eight. It's brainwashing and it's a lie.

The republicans are missing the chance to burry the democrates. We the people can see that the demacrates do nothing. If you look at the time when Bush became president the country was going into a down slide. The republicans fixed the problem quickly. Its very funny that the house and senate are controlled by the democrates and they are doing nothing. Oil prices have gone through the roof under the control of the democrates. Why can't the people see the problem? Its the do nothing democrates in control. The president does not control the economy, nor does he have control of gas pricing, but the senate and house do. They are doing nothing to solve or problems. If the house and senate voted tomarrow morning to end all gas engine vehicles by the end of 2009, we would not miss a beat and be driving new hydrogen, electrical or even nucular cars that would reduce or oil consumption, not to mention no more co2 output. So why dont they? Kick backs from BIG OIL!!!!!!!!!

SHE DID SAY THAT. Watch the interview. She was asked if she would go to wa rover Georgia and she said "most definitly. She did not say she would help them, she said she would go to war with Russia. Her answer was strange. Sara Palin is not a proven leader. She left a town of 9000 people in debt and she has been gov for 20 months. It's ridiculous.

To Democrat for McCain. You need to change your party affiliation. McCain has supported Bush 90% of the time in the Senate. He has changed his mind on issue after issue just to get the extremist side of the republican parties vote. Just go on YOUTUBE. There is a collection of Meet the Press clips that show him doing about faces on issue after issue. Who are you voting for? The old McCain Maverick or the new McCain carbon copy of Bush?

I have never heard such ignorance in my life as all the talking points that have been going on here about Sarah Palin and threatening to go to war with Russia. All you so called poltico's should be aware that Obama and Biden agree with her that Georgia should be allowed into NATO and that if attacked, of course the US would be obligated to help a NATO member state. As for experience, she is the only candidate that actually has executive experience. Obama biggest accomplishment was, hmmm, nothing comes to mind, except for sex education for 4 and 5 year olds, and of course, voting present for anything slightly controversial. If that makes him experienced enough to be president then by all means vote for him. As for me, I will put my trust in John McCain and Sarah Palin, proven leaders.

Posted by: Anonymous on Sep 13, 2008 at 03:28 PM
This is unbelievable that people are falling for Sra Palin. She is not ready to run this country. You have to know that. You cannot compare her to Obama. Obama was in the Iliinois senate for six years and the US senate for two. He is more qualified than her. If you still want to say he's not fine but his Vice president def is. HE's been a senator for 20 years. HE has foreign policy experience, GUESS WHAT ELSE, he has actually been out of the country. Sara Palin has never left the US. You think she has a good enough view to be president. There is 50/50 shot she would be running this country. Think about it. Even if you don't like Obama you have to know that she is a joke.

Is everyone crazy? Doesn't any care about the environment or human rights? Palin has denied that global warming is man-made. The Republicans are trillions of dollars in debt. Why is everyone making comments and planning to vote based on either fox news or cnn. Please watch both candidates with an open-heart. At the Saddleback church both were asked if evil existed and what we should do about it - McCain said "defeat it" instantly without thinking twice, as if some evil enemy was out there that could easily be destroyed by force. Obama thought and said "we need to be careful that we do not commit evil while we try to get rid of it". Please Republicans - don't let your fear of Obama make you vote for someone who denies global warming and delights in drilling away our few remaining untouched areas. Please don't ruin the future for our children, this could be our last chance.

Sara Palin ahs already said that she would go to war with Russia over Georgia. Is that what America needs? A war with Russia over some tiny little country that we have nothing to do with. McCain and Palin are not want this country needs. If you don't like Obama fine, but atleast admit the problems with McCain and Palin and stop talking like they are going to save this country. They won't.

Why are people making this election choice about what age; what race; what religion they claim to be & their stand on abortion only? What about the other HUGE issues we have in this country & world? Such as millions of folks without jobs right here at home; millions homeless because their homes have been taken; people right here who are hungry, without health insurance or access to health care; aging dangerous infrastructures & power grids that are failing fast; all this so-called "free trade" which has killed American jobs & brings in tainted food, drugs, pet food, baby food & products - you name it from Mexico & China. 7 yrs after 9/11 we havent found Bin Laden but are mired in Iraq & Afghanistan even though Iraq didnt cause 9/11! We are TRILLIONS of $$$$$ in debt. Energy prices are soaring while oil co like Exxon are making BILLIONS. So is Iraq by the way on THEIR oil. There are so many PRESSING issues but neither party wants to address, only snipe

Anonymous at 12:47 you are what is wrong with this state. Obamas mother is white. His father, who had nothing to do with him, was from Africa, therefor he is biracial. He is a christian and has went to the same christian church for twenty years. McCain is not the answer, his vice president had her first interview tonight and stated that she would go to war with Russia. McCain/Palin will have us in a new war within the first year of the term. Gas prices will continue to go up and so will groceries, utility bills, health insurance and prescriptions. They think that the minimum wage should stay the same. McCain has accepted millions from oil companies, just like Bush. So, he will owe them something now. Get over your paranoid delusions that Obama is the antichrist. It's ridiculous. Everyone needs to get over there fears and actually THINK for a change. Quit letting a group of people make you what you are and be your own person. No political party owns you. So stop letting them.

first, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that a person by the name of obama hussein should never be the president of the USA. first, obama is not black. he is middle-eastern...hence the muslim heritage. second, he can't change his heritage and upbringing. once he gets all the black people's votes, he's gonna say, i'm not a brother, i'm a rag head. OBAMA IS NOT THE ANSWER!! think about it!

1. Obama states that if elected he would enact budget cuts in the range of tens of billions of dollars and stop investing in "unproven" missile defense systems. 2. Obama's tax plan would eliminate taxes for senior citizens with incomes of less than $50,000 a year, repeal income tax cuts for those making over $250,000 as well as the capital gains and dividends tax cut, close corporate tax loopholes, lift the income cap on Social Security taxes, restrict offshore tax havens, and simplify filing of income tax returns by pre-filling wage and bank information already collected by the IRS. 3. Obama proposes a cap and trade auction system to restrict carbon emissions and a 10 year program of investments in new energy sources to reduce U.S. dependence on imported oil.

Almost every comment on here has a snide remark. For all you people making fun of James for misspelling words he may not be the best speller but he sounds much more intelligent then the people saying McCain/Palin are going to change this country. A man who has voted with the president 90% of the time is really going to make some serious changes. They are running the same political adds. Adds that just bash the other candidate instead of saying what they are going to do with this country. Everything they are doing is exactly the same as every other republican who has ran for office. You can go to Obama's website and read everything he is going to do and where the money will come from to do it.Obama also does not want to take your guns and neither do Republicans they do want to take your privacy though, they support illegal wiretapping and putting your name on a terrorist watchlist without a court hearing. So, which is worse, taking AK47's off the street or losing your freedom.

Posted by: Anonymous on Sep 11, 2008 at 05:23 PM
John McCain claims to be a maverick yet he has agreed and voted with the president 90% of the time. Palin has lied already and she has only been campaigning for a week. The bridge to nowhere that she said thanks but no thanks too well she was for it first, then changed her mind and kept the 230 million dollars. I'm really sick of them making fun of Obama for being a community organizer too. he worked with kids to keep them off of drugs. That's not something that should be made fun of it should be commended. Palin left a town of 9000 in debt and people think that she could run this country if something happened to McCain. Obama was a state senator for six years and US senator for two. He is qualified to be president. The adds that McCain are running are also lies. People need to look them up before they believe them.

It pains me to see so many people mouthing off about Democrat and Republican. Don't any of you realize that the President really can't do anything without the Senate, Congress and the House? True that things have been in the crapper for the last 8 years with Bush, but remember, we have a Democratic Congress as well. Can't blame everything on one party. Personally I don't think anything will be done with a new president to help out the American people. Until we decide that enough is enough, no one is going to listen. When are they going to start taking care of things in this country instead of bailing out everyone else? You see where that gets us. Everyone hates us and we just keep sending money. No party is perfect, and our government is far from it state and nation wide.

Posted by: Frank on Sep 11, 2008 at 03:55 PM
Let me get this straight. Educated people vote for a candidate who has the least experience of any Pres. candidate in the last 100 years, who has changed nothing. He doesn't understand the post 9-11 world. Both McCain and Palin have records of change and reform. Someone please give me 3 reasons we should vote for Obamanation. 3 real reasons. NOT because McCain is Bush's 3rd term or Palin is a bad mom. Name anything that Obamanation has done that will make you think he can change anything, except to make more people dependant on socialism. I never liked McCain because he broke with Republican ranks so many times, and Palin cleaned up the corruption in her own party, sold the Governors private jet, got rid of the limo and fired the cook (raising the unemployment rate in AK). These are people who have a record of change. Obamanation has a record of a speech in 2002. (Hillary's words) Obamanation is all smoke and mirrors and the American people are smarter than that!

Posted by: TB on Sep 11, 2008 at 02:51 PM
Hey Democrat at 8:05! You saying that they are going to police public smoking reminds me of all those people that voted for Bush in 2000 because Gore "was going to take guns away from people". Misinformation like this is dangerous and the Republicans have done this for years. They like to spread ridiculous rumors hoping someone will believe them and convince others. Well, they've found their village idiot!!!!!!

Posted by: M on Sep 11, 2008 at 02:42 PM
Really people, what is John McCain going to do for you that Bush hasn't already done? He has screwed up the economy, medical care and our International relations. There is not much left for him to ruin. If you really like how the last 8 years have gone, be my guest and vote for McCain, hope you like $10 a gallon gas and soaring medical costs. It amazes me that with the gowing elderly population in WV that people are pulling for McCain. He will do nothing to help the out of control medical costs in this country, he'll just help make sure they stay high to make his political contributors happy. The Republicans aren't about helping one another, it's everyone for themselves in their minds. Enjoy the next 4 years if you vote for McCain, I'll be happy with my vote.

Posted by: what we all need to do on Sep 11, 2008 at 02:33 PM
What we all need to do is get educations no matter at what cost. Everyone should study hard and go to school. Everyone should put off getting pregnant and getting married until they are secure financially. Then we would all be making enough money and be educated enough to make decisions about the same things. No one is going to agree on this stuff...everyone has a different fight in this battle. I simply think that our nation will not be safe if Barack Obama is our president. He is underqualified and though he may seem like he has charisma....he is not qualified to keep us safe. He might WANT to really badly....but he will not know how to do it. I have kids and I want USA to be a safe place for them to live..so they can have the opportunity to get educated and become productive members of society and work hard. USA for McCain/Palin. Everyone needs to get off the topic of the pregnant daughter. I am sure she will be a great mother. Women ar resiliant creatures. Palin power!

Posted by: To James on Sep 11, 2008 at 01:14 PM
Good job James. You have thoroughly memorized CNN's talking points; All McCain knows is war, Sarah Palin doesn't have any experience(Please tell us Obama's qualifying experience one more time), etc. It is ironic, however, that you support Obama, but attack McCain/Palin with "false charges of change when you can't even tell me how it will be done" I thought you had lost your train of thought and was attacking Obama there for a minute. Once again, could you refresh my memory on the detailed plans Obama has to accomplish "change"? I've heard him say it from the beginning, and paint a rosey picture of how it will be when it happens, but I can't remember how he plans to get there. Oh yeah, that's because he has never told anyone that part. I hope you continue to be the DemOcratic party's spokesman.

Posted by: To Morethruths on Sep 11, 2008 at 01:05 PM
You're right...let's just roll the dice on the guy with no experience. The guy who speaks of change, but can't give you any plans on how. The man his own party compares to Jesus(Rep. Steve Cohen this week). As far as energy goes, Nuclear energy is being used world wide, and as much as the Dems want us to be just like the rest of the world, I'm surprised you are against it. Secondly, there is more to gain from drilling here than lowering the price at the pump. We are currently shelling out billions to countries who are not only NOT our allies, but who would like to see us all dead. Reliance on them offers them control over us. Drilling our own oil gives us back some of that control. Furthermore, China is already drilling off our coast and Russia is trying to beat us to the natural resources in the N. but we're being blocked by Congress. Oil and Nat. Gas do not lie under the ground in a column, but rather a pool, so in places, they are already tapping into what should be ours.

Posted by: To those asking the ??? on Sep 11, 2008 at 12:50 PM
To those asking "are you better off than you were 8 years ago" and saying "we can't stand eight more years of the same" here's something to think about. You blame Bush for the economic state we are in. He had no influence on the downturn caused by the demise of the .com stocks prior to his election. He has no influence on the fact that China is pushing the prices of raw materials(steel, copper, etc.) throught the roof by their explosive growth. That menas we pay more for EVERYTHING, not just steel and copper. If the trains pay more for steel to build their cars and repair their rails, that cost gets passed down all the way to you. Bush also has no say in how much OPEC will charge per barrell. (even though the Dems at-first claimed he invaded Iraq for the oil). Talk about scare tactics, the Dems are using the economy and the environment in a "the sky is falling" attempt to make you think they are the only ones able to pull us through.

The free encyclopedia that anyone with an internet connection is allowed to edit is now the most reliable source to get informed. I am sure that most everything you read about on Wikipedia is true, but I surely wouldn't call it more reliable than CNN.

Anyone considering voting for 4 more years of "Bush" should be drug tested before their vote is accepted. Obama is not the scarey one.

Posted by: Get Informed-READ!! on Sep 11, 2008 at 11:46 AM
No CNN doesn't expose the truth either. look up Sarah Palin on Wikipedia. Do your homework, don't rely on the tv. She also spent tax payer money remodeling her offices....sound familiar(gov manchin). Take the labels(dem/repub)out of the equation and read the facts. Yes READ the facts. Otherwise you are uninformed and guaranteed to make the wrong decision. By the way the 22 mil came from a money pit decision to build a sports complex on land that the city didn't own so it spent 7 years in litigation. Poor planning, poor decision making, but she's pretty, says good stuff and a hockey mom so that's what counts. See how stupid that sounds.

THE MILLIONAIRES HAVE TOO MANY LOOPHOLES ETC. A PEON LIKE ME GETS NO BREAKS AT ALL AND AM HAVING DIFFICULTY EVEN TRYING TO RETIRE (IE: NOT ENOUGH TO LIVE ON). WV SHOULD JUST 'FESS UP, THEY'RE RACIST. Any demacrat that votes for McCain/Palin is disscrace to the demacratic party. I Want to know why would trust a man that has had 26 years to improve the system, yet has done nothing. Sarah Palin has no foriegn policy experince and all McCain knows is war doesnt this country deserve better than that. I'm really tired of hearing false charges of change when you cant even tell me how it will be done. I love my country as good as the next person and I want a change. I DO NOT want to see the republicans use the fear from 9/11 to scare us to vote for them. For them to use the footage of 9/11 at the republican convention is an outrage, Telling us he alone can catch Osama, why havent you done that already youve had 7 years to help catch him and you did nothing. People please wake up dont believe the lies McCain is shoveling at you. Please for the sake of the country, the shake of our children, and the sake of our future DO NOT VOTE FOR McCain

Timothy, the delegates votes are "individual votes." Should we all just meet and cast all of our votes for the same person as normal citizens? You must have been under the impression that the delegates were obligated to vote with the rest of the state. Perhaps they know something about politics unlike the rest of the state who vote for a candidate because the other candidate was called a muslim in a chain e-mail. It could be that some of them have actually worked with Hillary and realize she is only for herself unlike what she tells the public. Also, the "gun toting" comment was in reference to the state of Pennsylvania. You only wished that you lived in such an economically stable state.

The Repubs are just using drilling as a political wedge. Drilling is not going to lower gas prices. Do you want to live next to a Nuclear power plant? Do you want to live next to John Amos so called "clean coal" plant. Have you ever heard of COPD? Do a search on it. Do you want your children to live in a world where the water, air and land is trashed because we were too ignorant to come up with real solutions? We need new leadership and everytime we have a chance for new leadership-Gore, Kerry, now Obama, we choose the other guy because the other guy makes us feel comfortable. Leave congress and local gov out of it for a minute. I'm a dem and think Manchin and Rockafeller sucks. I'm not pro union either because they just take your money and don't have any solutions. People think objectively about LEADERSHIP. Is McSame going to bring this country into the 21st Century, or will we take a chance on the new guy who has REAL Solutions and can make them happen because he's bright.

Well I must say this will be a very intresting election, I am still undecided on who to vote for, however I do not think anyone should judge Palin for what her daughter does, her daughter is 17 and I am sure knows better, I also think it is cool the way Palin works and her hubby is a house husband, well we will see come Nov. I hope everyone gets what they want out of this election.

If you want to know the real reason Obama will not win WV go to youtube and search west virginia voter interviews. It is flat out embarrassing to me as a WV that they can find that many people that will say on camera they won't vote for a black man. Also people that are scared of his name or his Muslim heritage, which he left behind long ago.

Obama really isn't even raising taxes on those making 227K-603K either. According to his plan those in that income range will see a $12 increase in taxes a year. So that is roughly $0.50 a paycheck... I am pretty sure those people will still get by. Now if you make 603K and up your average bill will raise about by about 115K a year, but these are the people that can afford to pay these kind of taxes and I guarantee you that I could still live pretty handsomely on a net income of nearly 500K a year. Lastly those making over 2.9 million will see an average rise of roughly 700K, once again if you are making 2.9 million this is not going to hurt your style of living. If it were McCain these people would see a drop of 8K, 45K, and 270K respectively. If you are worried about the insanely rich paying more taxxes then look at all the millionaire celebrities endorsing Obama... they are not too worried about higher taxes.

Posted by: Anonymous on Sep 11, 2008 at 07:21 AM
Timothy those delegates are free to choose however they want, and even if they were to choose Hillary then you would still be choosing between Obama and McCain because the race was already over. I really love all the democrats that will now vote for McCain simply because they do not like Obama and are bitter because Hillary didn't win. If you were actually voting on the issues and not who you liked or didn't like you would step back and realize that Hillary's proposed policies and McCains proposed policies are nearly completely opposite. While Obama and Hillary have some differences as well they are much closer than Hillary and McCain. This is why Hillary endorsed Obama. You people should not even be allowed to vote becuase you will never be able to adequately justify why you are choosing McCain over Obama outside of the fact that you don't like Obama, and a lot of you are probably basing that decision on the fact that he is half black.

Regarding Experience Reason of the padding of Mrs. Palin's resume and her overstating her "Bridge to no-where" comments is to make her accomplishments seem more lofty than they are. But we now know that a community organizer is responsible for employees and budget doing "executive" things. We now know that Obama has had a hand on major legislation in the U.S. Senate. So, Republicans are trying to lift Palin higher and trying with "smear" to tear Obama down. But this is making John McCain irrelevant. For me, it is not about race nor is it about gender. It is about the economics of West Virginia. If you feel economically hurt by the last 8 years, it is time for a new management. Enough is Enough.

I hope all WV Democrats remember the election in the Spring. Our representatives, Manchin, Rockafeeler, Byrd, and the rest did not hear you speak when you wanted Hillary. They ignored you, now get out there and give support to Sarah and John and show them, when you speak it better mean something and vote them out of office. That would be a true WV Democrat. We gun toting (as Obama refers to us) bible thumping hillbillies can take control of our state if we do the right thing. Our WV troops serving in Iraq and Afghanstan believe in what they are doing whether these hyprocites do or not so support your troops and Vote MCCAIN and PALIN..

O.K....Give me an example. You said that they "make up lies about people who stand up for you". Who are they. I know your not talking about the Congress/Senate. They made a bunch of promises about how they were going to "change" things when they took over, and have done absolutely NOTHING. Queen Pelosi sits there on her throne and REFUSES to let things even be tabled for discussion or vote. How is that standing up for you. They are against drilling for new oil, Nuclear power, Coal(it's too dirty). You are probably as unhappy with the gas/heating fuel prices as everyone else, yet they don't seem to be doing much standing up for you. The Republicans refused to leave for their vacation to protest her dictatorship, and other Dems want to cast a vote for drilling, but she says "No". Do us a favor and go ask your union boss how she(and the others in Congress with the lowest approval rating in history) are standing up for you.

So, when times were good under Bill Clinton it was not his doings, it was the republicans. But, when they were bad, it was Clintons fault. That is hilarious. I guess George Bush has done a phenomenal job as president. It was just the democrats who messed everything up. Even though they only took over the senate recently, it's all there fault. Could it be that nothing has been accomplished by the democrats because the president vetoes everything they try to pass. Why is it when everything happened with Monica Lewinsky republicans said if he can't manage his own house how can he manage the country. But, it's sexist to say that about Sara Palin. Speaking of how they raise there kids, Chelsea Clinton is nothing compared to the Bush twins and Sara Palins pregnant teen. I don't know what the Clintons were thinking raising such a hoodlum. Yep. Those republicans really know a lot about good ole family values.

Highest tooth loss rate in the nation. Are you sure that article was not the highest memory loss in the nation? Does anyone remember the last 8 years. McCain agreed with Bush 90% of the time with his policies. McCain = Bush. Let's not make another embarassing headline in the paper in November and vote McCain in office.

Palin = good morals. Haha, pregnant unmarried daughter, lied about the bridge in Alaska, etc. Seems like pretty good morals to me.

Palin is very likable and charming but she doesn't know a thing about the world. She's been in Alaska for the last 40 years and is barely educated. She is also not being honest about being fiscally responsible. She put her city 22 million in the hole as mayor. She is a fundamentalist christian who does not belive in science and thinks a woman does not have a right to choose. She is in no way a feminist Jill! If the repubs get elected than you can count on 2 more right wing supreme court appointees and kiss the constitution goodbye. Don't you people love this country enough to fight for our democracy and not hand it over to extreme fundamentalist?

Posted by: Republican on Sep 10, 2008 at 11:36 PM
All the working people should vote for McCain and Palin. I'm tired of taking care of those on welfare, wanting everything in life to come free and easy. This is the reason our country is having economic hardship...free food, free housing, free healthcare! Everyone in America has equal opportunity to education and jobs! Go get one! Vote Republican! Save our economy!

Posted by: oh and one more thing Jill.. on Sep 10, 2008 at 11:16 PM
Who else can get things done and multitask better than a Mommy?!! I think she and Mccain are going to lead us to a better USA....They will make a great team.

Posted by: to Jill on Sep 10, 2008 at 11:15 PM
I am also not saying anything bad..hope you do not take it that way. BUT she is the ultimate feminist...which Democrats USUALLY love. Her husband helps her with the kids and home duties. I know a lot of situations like this. I think we will be blessed to have a mother in their fighting. She has children too and will not let us down because she will not want to let them down. The shoes reverse as well....Biden's wife was killed and he has been soley responsible for his kids. One thing about Palin that I love is that she is a mom....and have you seen her family? Her parents are as good of Americans as possible. She was raised well...good morals and family values, sports, etc. I think she is JUST what we need. John McCain is a good man. He will not let us down. He has fought for the USA time and again. He loves this country. My whole family are Democrats though they can't tell you why. They are not for abortion or gays or gun control or increased taxes. They are voting Mccain

There, their, they're. Your, you're. It's not that hard. With that out of the way, I have come to realize that it doesn't really matter WHO the president is, and that it's Congress, big business and the media who keeps things screwed up. I have no idea who I will vote for and probably won't decide till I'm in the the booth. Neither one appeals to me, but if I want the right to complain, I must vote.

The reason that the people who make over 250,000 a year should pay more is because THEY can afford it. The middle class can't. Trickle down economics does not work. It has not worked for the last eight years. I am really sick of people saying that people just don't want to work. The fact is right now people that are working are working longer hours and more jobs because they can't afford to do otherwise. Right now the middle class is paying more and they are not getting anything in return. Where are there profits going from the increased rates of food, groceries and gas? They are not going to any government funded programs because all of those have been cut back. So why is it that the middle class is paying so much more and getting nothing in return?

Posted by: To to Graydon on Sep 10, 2008 at 09:16 PM
You're absolutely right. Only a half-brained, babbling idiot of a person would spell Karl Rove with a 'C'. I am surprised Graydon can even turn on a computer with misspellings of that magnitude. What planet has he been on for the last eight years? (Please note the heavy sarcasm.)

Anonymous at 8:18, if everything rolls downhill, where are the rolling down profits of our growing economy? They are quite inconspicuous to me and my region.

Our delegates should have respected the people that provide them with jobs by voting the same as our State did. This is ridiculous. I bet Hillary is laughing at Obama and the other delegates now.

Ah the years of Shangra-la...the Clinton years. Just so your account isn't the only one told, here are some facts. Clinton did not balance the budget. The Republican sponsored Contract with America did that(Clinton had to be pressured numerous times to sign it). Clinton was the lucky recipient of the "tech age" and the .com stock explosion, however, if you will take a look, that all started going downhill in the summer before Bush took over. As for jobs, it was Clinton that signed NAFTA into being, costing us jobs. As for the "last eight years": We've funded wars on two fronts and since that time, whether you agree w/ them or not, the U.S. has not been attacked as on 9-11. Now we're battling a Dem. Congress that is useless(point to ONE thing they've done), $4.00 Gal. gas brought on by OPEC(so much for invading Iraq for their oil) and a press corp. that has rode Bush since day one (long before the war, gas prices, etc.) And the sheep keep lapping it up.

i admit that i don't know much about palin, and i am voting democrat, but i really think that palin needs to be home with her family. with her family situations, they need to come first. this really bothers me. family values and priorities are very important. i really can't understand why she would want to take on such a responsibility when she is needed at home. i'm not saying at all that she's a bad person, but i really don't understand this.

Hit me again. Toughen up people. Who says we deserve the highest standard of living in the world? It's time for working Americans to sacrifice. Forget our minds, let's vote with our hearts. So tell me why it is fair that successful people who have worked hard for their educations and have made many sacrifices and put off having families and getting married to finish their degrees. Some people go to school for over 15 years to earn their degrees and be making over $250,000. Why is the right of the government to take away their hard earned and well deserved money just because they are successful? NOW do I make over $250,000...NO! But do I think that these people deserve to have their taxes raised NO. They worked hard and made many sacrifices. And besides everything cost more when you make more...more taxes on your income...more taxes on your home, etc. And I am not talking to your average person, but really and truly, these taxes are raised to take care of people who do not contribute to society. I realize this is NOT everyone so before you go and send mean comments to this, but I am talking to the many people who CHOOSE to not work. I am a Democrat voting McCain.

maybe if the news would report on the lies mccain/palin have told, instead of the swift-boat type comments that probably are carl rove's idea, now that it's out he is helping them, the polls might be different, but i guess you need a fair and balanced station for that.

Posted by: Tiffany on Sep 10, 2008 at 05:46 PM
Sorry but you are wrong Anonymous @ 3:53pm. People were doing much better during the eight years clinton was in office. The unemployment rate was at a new low and the crime rate was lower. Before Clinton we had twelve years of Republicans. It is not only "the poor" who have voted democratic. For your information I am not poor. The rest of my family isn't either and we have always voted democratic. That was an idiotic statement.

Ram gets a pass...they're not intelligent enough to form an opinion on their own. However, the rest of the libs need to do some research, develop an opinion of your own(if your Union will let you)and stop regurgitating the same indless rhetoric. I can get the same speech from CNN, NBC, and MSNBC...almost word for word. West Virginia has been led by the Democrats for years and look where we're at! They need to change the state motto from "Almost Heaven, West Virginia." to "We'll believe anything a Democrat tells us, West Virginia." and instead of "Wild, Wonderful, West Virginia." how about "Child-like, Gullible, West Virginia."

Posted by: Jerry on Sep 10, 2008 at 03:58 PM
You wonder why? This is the same state that continues to elect an out of touch, egotistical, self righteous Klan member to the senate. Wonder why this state is pro McCain, what color is Obama again? How many buildings have the name Robert C. Byrd attached to them anyhow? Overweight, no dental plan, uneducated and uninformed. There are very few people in this state that make enough money to even be a Republican. Most live off the programs that the Democrats put in to help them live with the poverty they subsist in. You people are confusing religion with politics and that is just how the Republicans want it. Convince simple minded people they stand for something that they can easily skirt around once their in office. These people run under one mantra of conservatism and live under another. Democrats get caught with women and Republicans get caught with young boys and gay men.

The poor have been voting Democrat for 50 years and you're still poor!!!!!

Posted by: Tiffany on Sep 10, 2008 at 03:36 PM
Keep in mind when republicans say "Obama is going to raise your taxes". They are not talking to normal everyday citizens. They are talking to other politicians and corporate executives, anyone who makes over 250,000 a year. Obama is cutting taxes for anyone who makes under that amount. Instead of believing everything you see on Fox News maybe people need to do there own research. For everyone out there who loves Governor Palin do you realize that she has never been out of the country? She has no foreign policy experience.

Posted by: Steven on Sep 10, 2008 at 03:35 PM

I want the world to change but it would only change for the worst if Obama wins! AND NO, I am not racist and I do not care if he would be purple, I still wouldnt vote for the man, because he is NOT what we need in our country that is falling apart. Just read his book! I am encouraged by this. My daughter had friends over, 8 out of 10 planned to vote for Obama. The 2 who were for McCain were voting for smaller gov., but did not agree on the abortion issue with him. They believe in free choice. They also said that religon should be kept out of politics. I think the republican party better get more progressive, or they will lose their young voters while their older voters die off.
