CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man who devoted his life to public service will be remembered Monday.

A memorial service is scheduled for former Governor Cecil Underwood. It starts at 11 a.m. Monday at the Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston. The memorial service is open to the public.

Governor Underwood became the state's youngest governor when he was elected in 1956 at the age of 34. He won his second term in 1996 on his 74th birthday. That made him the oldest governor ever elected in the state.
He died last Monday.

If you aren't able to attend the memorial service in Charleston, we'll offer a live feed of the service here on WSAZ.com. We'll get the feed posted a few minutes before 11 a.m. Monday morning. The live coverage will wrap up at 12:15 in the afternoon.

We will also have complete coverage of the former governor's memorial all evening on NewsChannel 3 and myZtv.
