Ohio Poised for Second Temporary Budget
Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland is asking state lawmakers to work around the clock until a new two-year budget is reached to replace the one that expired last week.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland is asking state lawmakers to work around the clock until a new two-year budget is reached to replace the one that expired last week.
In a news conference Monday, the Democrat accused Senate Republican leaders of a "deafening silence" that is causing the current stalemate over Strickland's proposal to put slot machines at race tracks.
He accuses the Republicans of playing politics and failing to come up with a viable proposal to overcome a $3.2 billion deficit.
Strickland says the slots plan would raise $933 million. Republicans say it has "fatal flaws."
Strickland says he'll stay at the statehouse and bring in pizza and pillows if needed.
The Senate plans to vote on a second temporary budget to fund state government through July 14.
