CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The football team at South Charleston High School was honored at the West Virginia State Capitol on Monday.

The House of Delegates presented Head Coach John Messenger and the team with a citation to honor and recognize them for their recent state championship win.

A citation is similiar to a resolution. However, with a citation, the House doesn't have to vote on the measure.

South Charleston is the first AAA team in the state to win back-to-back championships in football.

The Black Eagles won the state title back in December in Wheeling.

First of all the population at most KVC schools has diminished wich means that the talent pool as done so as well. Next, what about East Bank who ranked in the top 25 USA Today in 1990. Charleston High Stonewall, and even earl-mid 90's Capitol High? Im glad of their SC's accomplishments especially academically but the best team to play in the Valley! Big statement for such a small team.
