Table Games Recount Complete, Issue Passes

The recount is over for the Kanawha County table games election. Despite more uncounted votes found, the issue still passes with a 339 vote margin.

The Kanawha County Board of Elections has certified the table games election after a recount this morning. The issue officially passes with a 339 vote margin, four less than what the board counted during the canvass.

FINAL NUMBERS:
YES: 23,196
NO: 22,857

14 additional uncounted votes were found during the recount. Those were from precinct 153, Marmet City Hall.

Kanawha County offered a live video feed during today's recount. The board wrapped up the count at about 9:30am.



The request for a recount was submitted by Mia Moran-Cooper, who made the announcement along with the West Virginia Council of Churches on August 21.

Moran-Cooper only asked the board to recount 44 of the 175 precincts in the county. However, officials from the racetrack may ask the board to continue the count beyond 44 precincts.

As a result of the vote cavass on August 17, the issue passed by a margin of 343 votes. Here is the official total:
Yes: 23,192
No: 22,849

We all know that Joe just cannot tell the truth. He campaigned in Mingo County and promised the voters that he would stop consolidation. Guess what? Consodidation is moving right ahead! Remember Joe, you said this at the Fire Station in Williamson.....

Hey I agree with you! I'm one of the dummies that voted for, but come next election 2008,myself, my family and those I know will be voting against, then we might be "open for business" for real! Some make promises just to get into office, then they don't come thru and break them, THAT'S NOT FORGOTTEN!! Election 2008, I don't care who runs for govenor against the man, I'm voting for them.
