WASHINGTON – Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) made the following video statement today as the House of Representatives prepares to consider the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act, a broad piece of legislation designed to combat foreclosure and provide stability to the housing market.

The legislation also includes an amendment offered by Capito to correct a glaring oversight in the Economic Stimulus Act where the expansion of conforming loan limits for federally administered mortgage programs was not applied to the Veterans Affairs Home Loan Program.

Capito is the Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity, where she has been at the forefront of the congressional response to the housing crisis.
