WASHINGTON – Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) released the following statement today, in recognition of the service of America's military men and women:

"As our nation prepares to celebrate Memorial Day, I encourage every West Virginian to take a few minutes to remember and honor the sacrifice of our men and women in uniform.

"In West Virginia, we live by the motto – Mountaineers Are Always Free – and we have our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines to thank for those freedoms. We can be proud of the service of our military men and women, and we must honor their sacrifice. America is a stronger from their commitment to their country."
