THIS IS A PRESS RELEASE FROM THE OFFICE OF UNITED STATES SENATOR JAY ROCKEFELLER.
Washington, DC – With the grand opening of the DirecTV Customer Care Center in Huntington set for today, Senator Jay Rockefeller praised the investment and what it means for the Huntington region.
“This is tremendous news for these employees, for their families, and for the entire Huntington area,” Rockefeller said. “Hundreds of jobs are being saved. Investments are being made. And a strong partnership is underway. I’m absolutely confident that these workers will continue to make customer care their top priority – and because of their hard work, I’m just as sure that DirecTV’s decision will pay off in a big way for both the company and for West Virginia.”
As a result of DirecTV’s purchase of the former PRC call center, more than 500 people – whose jobs were at risk in the midst of PRC’s imminent closing – will now be employed with the largest satellite television provider in the nation.
