THIS IS A PRESS RELEASE FROM THE OFFICE OF WEST VIRGINIA CONGRESSWOMAN SHELLEY MOORE CAPITO.

WASHINGTON – Hundreds of West Virginians often visit the nation’s capital over the Fourth of July to take part in the many events planned to coincide with the anniversary of the July 4th signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

For West Virginians traveling to Washington this year, Rep. Shelley Moor Capito, R-W.Va., and her staff have compiled a list of events taking place throughout the week of Independence Day.

“The history of our great nation truly seems to come alive in Washington over Independence Day,” said Capito. “Tourists come to Washington to take part in a national celebration and there are plenty of ways to keep busy throughout the week. Yet whether we’re Washington or in West Virginia, the most important point is that we all take time to remember our nation’s unique history and the many sacrifices of those who came before us.”
