CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Twenty-eight counties are under a winter weather advisory until noon Tuesday and some areas could see up to five inches of snow.

Schools in Hancock and Gilmer counties are closed today. Schools in Brooke, Cabell, Kanawha, Marshall, Ohio, Putnam, Randolph, Ritchie and Wayne counties are operating on a two-hour delay.

The National Weather Service says snow overnight is expected to give way to sleet and rain by late morning.

Meanwhile, the lights are back on for most West Virginians affected by weekend wind gusts of up to 55 miles per hour.

As of Monday night, only 577 customers of Appalachian Power and 686 customers of Allegheny Energy still had no electricity.

At the height of Sunday's outages, more than 50,000 customers of the utilities were without power.

I guess if you don't live in WV you don't get any precip. I think the snow and ice came into OH and KY before it hit WV. It was all part of the same storm or so we were told last night. Come on guys and gals.
