HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Strong storms have been moving through the WSAZ viewing area Wednesday afternoon.

Check out the video clip above of a lightning bolt in Lloyd, Kentucky. This was e-mailed to us by e-Reporters Matt and Amy Boggs.

So far, we're getting word that the one of the hardest hit areas is in Lawrence County, Ohio. Dispatchers tell us there's high water on Route 93 near Pedro in a flood-prone area. We're told some homes were evacuated, but so far, everyone is okay.

Callers have reported nickel-size hail in Grayson and Cannonsburg.

In Gallia County, Ohio, dispatchers tell us one person was rescued after driving into high water on State Route 218 -- about 6 miles north of Mercerville. Emergency crews say the driver is okay.

A creek and poor drainage is a bad combination in weather like this. Business owners in a shopping plaza along Diederich Boulevard in Russell, Kentucky, discovered that Wednesday afternoon. Several businesses were flooded by the high water.

The fast moving storms blew through Huntington. The winds blew part of a tree into a house along 3rd Avenue near the intersection of 31st Street. It happened just after 8:00 Wednesday night. No one inside the house was hurt.

It was a similar scene along 4th Avenue in Huntington where a tree was blown over. It happened right downtown just after 8:30 Wednesday evening. A tree was uprooted knocking a street light over into the back of a car. No one was hurt and 4th Avenue was never blocked.

There were several of us stranded at the Lawrence Furnance Church after the burieal of a loved one. We are very Thankful to the members of the Church that was stranded with us, and I pray that there is no permanent damage done with the approximatly 3 inches of water that was in the fellowship hall. The Members worked very hard to try to keep the water out and to preserve the Church and was concerned for our safety. Thank you, Lawrence Furnance Church.

Dont take chances I couldnt agree more. I was stunned when I saw the news last night. When Randy talked about walking in chest high water, Randy is very lucky he didnt become the Story with rescue crews trying to recover him. What is even worse is some first responder may have died trying to save him, Shame on you Mr. Yohe for putting yourself in a position to become the story. I lost alot of respect for you yesterday.

I live in south Point and we seen the tornando formation, it was pitch black and then the wind picked up to about 70 mph, we had nickle sized hail and extreme rain. quiet a few trees were uprooted and the flood waters came into a lot of peoples homes and garages. It was really bad.

Here in Flatwoods, we got it worse with the last storm that went through. We were cleaning up from the other storms when it hit. The rain flooded our homes and knocked trees down. To make things worse we couldn't get the water up because we also lost power. So today has been a horrilbe day and we will be at this for a few days cleaning up Mother Nature's Mess

Lewis Co. Ky hit 3 times with Tornado warnings in last 2 days with Tornado Warnings. Yesterday.. (Wednesday)..I heard it touched down around "Mouth of Grassy", which is where RD#344 AND RD#59 meet. I know they had closed Rd#344 last night. I was at my dads, because he has a basement and i do not. I was looking out the window, and couldn`t see the other end of his field, the hill past it or anything, it was all white. Winds were 70mph i heard, rain was a huge downpour, caused flooding, and downed trees. Power went off after strom around 4:15pm, and came back on around 6pm. We had a tornado warning at around 3:15-3:30pm, and one again around 7:00-7:30pm in one day.Hillside slid off up past our house, neighbors used logging equipment for hours clearing the debri so they could get home to their teenaged kids still at home. Everyone is okay. Thank you God for watching over us. It has been scarey and stressful. Glad the storms have gone this morning. Need the break and some sleep now.

In the past 2 days, we had 3 tornado warnings. Road #344 was closed last night due to storm and flooding damage, leaving one of my sisters and a neighbors son stranding in Vanceburg, unable to get home. Past my house was a landslide off the hill and onto the road blocking the roadway. Neighbors used logging equipment for hours trying to clear out debri so they could return home. We had extremely high winds and unimagineable amount of rain. My daughters` friend found a screen door in their front yard from the storm. We had to leave our home three times to take cover from storm in last 2 days. Ready to get some rest now it is over.

When i got out of school, there were ominous clouds and the wind was howling. I took my friend home, and a tree fell right near his house. My dad was at Cabell Midland High School, and the High Schoolers ere very nervous. My family went to Ohio, and the river was way up! A tree also fell on Rt. 60 and traffic was horrible!

For some reason, people always seem to drive into high water, knowing darned well they shouldn't. That's when you have to fish out all the people like Randy with WSAZ that didn't turn around when they should have & had the chance. There were at least 6 vehicles in Lawrence county that got stuck in the water during this flood where someone else had to pull them out. DO NOT DRIVE THRU HIGH WATERS!!! How many people have to get swept away and drown before citizens realize that they shouldn't take these chances? Last year a guy in Lawrence county tried to drive through a flooded roadway - someone found him a few weeks later drowned in a mud/debris pile down the creek. Don't be stupid - TURN AROUND & DON'T DROWN !!!

A Bellefonte Cop Car had either a wreck or go stuck in high water on Deidrich Blvd. in Russell, KY. It was a Cop Truck to be exact. It was being towed. The road was also blocked off because of flooding. The Westwood, Summit, Ironville, Greenup, Boyd, Carter, Louisa, & Lewis counties also got a brunt force. Parts of Greenup Co. Experienced severe flooding. no phone lines and no electricty for more then 7 hours. All this- during rush hour traffic. It was a traffic mess. Everything in the small town was shut down. It was like a ghost town. I enjoyed it though. Lit some candles and relaxed for a change.

Severe winds tore the roof off of a trailer on Rt 2 in Apple Grove, WV this afternoon. The power was off in the area after that until about 10:00 pm.

Around 8pm the last big storm was approaching my farm, when I noticed that the clouds were rolling on the ground, the sky was green and it was calm for a few minutes. When it hit, the clouds rolled by like a blanket of fog and the driving rains right behind. My husband told me to run and get the camera, so I was able to take one picture, but missed the shot we wanted where it looked like a steamroller, rolling across. It was wicked!! We had probably pea size hail with it. This has been one wild day of storms!

Storm was ferocious! Didn't last very long. Just long enough to dump tree branches into the street. Neighbors came out and worked together to clear the street.

A friend just called from Ravenswood, where I live. I was told that the town just received about 2 inches of rain in about 30 minutes. He seen dogs floating by him on doghouses.

Storm just passed thru here in the last 5 minutes. Large gumball size hail started first before the rain started. Then the downpours. Last only about 5 or 10 minutes total. The sky now seems to be clearing somewhat.
