MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - With summer practice just three months away, West Virginia football coach Bill Stewart is taking stock of his players' health.

Stewart says junior left guard Greg Isdaner and senior Mike Dent should be up to full speed by the end of May and ready for practice in August. Both missed spring practice following shoulder surgeries.

Senior left tackle Ryan Stanchek also is ready to return after recovering from a foot problem.

Stancheck's former backup, Frank Carduff, though, has undergone three surgeries for a torn ligament in his knee, and is retiring. Stewart says Carduff will stay on as a student assistant.

On defense, cornerback Brantwon Browser is out for the season, also with a torn ligament. He'll sit out a year and have two years of eligibility left.

Junior defensive end Zac Cooper is clear to return to football after being treated for a heart ailment.

Stewart says the status of senior linebacker Reed Williams, who is recovering from torn cartilage in both shoulders, is still uncertain.
