MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WSAZ) -- Conference USA is taking its 2008 Football Blitz to another level...at least in its accommodations.
The league is putting up its coaches and players at the historic Peabody Hotel in Memphis.
That same hotel was made famous by the daily duck march in the hotel lobby.
Each day at 11 a.m., four hens and a drake walk the red carpet to the lobby fountain where they spend the day. At 5 p.m., the ducks reverse the parade and return to their palace for the night, much to the delight of the hotel guests.
Marshall players Cody Slate and C.J. Spillman watched the procession Saturday morning. For two guys who know what it's like to be gawked at during the Herd walk on game days, it made for entertaining fare.
"It was pretty cool to see," Cody Slate told me outside the hotel.
That wasn't the only tourist adventure for the players Saturday. They also visited the home of Elvis earlier in the day.
"We got to see Graceland this morning," C.J. Spillman said. "We're just passing the time until tomorrow."
That's when the cameras and notepads are pointed at them and the rest of the coaches and players who made the trip to Memphis.
No more duck or Elvis sightings, just football talk...all day long.
