COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - An Internal Revenue Service employee says he's guilty of improperly accessing the tax accounts of Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis, former Cincinnati Reds players and others.

John Snyder entered the plea to the misdemeanor charge Monday in federal court in Covington, Ky.

The U.S. Attorney's office says the case involves almost 200 sports figures and celebrities, including Kevin Bacon, Alec Baldwin, Sally Field, Chevy Chase, Randy Quaid and Tara Reid.

Snyder faces up to one year in jail and a $250,000 fine when he's sentenced Aug. 20th.

His attorney, Edward McTigue, says Snyder has no comment. Snyder is free on his own recognizance.

Why would this be a misdemeanor. I guess IRS employees have exceptions to others.
