MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Linebacker Reed Williams says he
expects to miss West Virginia's season opener because he's still
recovering from shoulder surgery.

Williams led the Mountaineers in tackles last season. He
underwent surgery on torn cartilage in his right shoulder in
January and in his left shoulder in March.

The 6-foot-2 Williams said Thursday his doctor advised him to
sit out the Aug. 30 opener at home against Villanova.
