MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Darryl Bryant scored 16 points to lead
West Virginia to an 86-54 win over Longwood in preliminary round
play of the Las Vegas Invitational on Thursday night.
With Longwood trailing by just seven points at the 6:25 mark of
the first half, the Mountaineers went on a 24-7 run to blow the
game open before halftime. West Virginia (2-0) led 43-19 at the
break.
Longwood (2-2) struggled from the field early and often, making
just 7-of-25 first half field goal attempts and shooting just over
30 percent from the field for the game. The Mountaineers owned a
sizeable 54-27 advantage on the boards.
Dana Smith led Longwood with a game-high 17 points.
